  1. let out your leader and 2 colors and attach it there. it will not damage the core and you still get some of the lead cores snaking effect behind the bomb
  2. X2 on the big Scotty releases but usually just run one down the chute and that catches more than when I run them off boards for some reason
  3. Yep emailed them last month when the first diver got destroyed and they sent me a new one right away. Great customer service. said they'd never seen this before. Then I tried last week with the diver they sent using a ring I had and same thing happen. I didn't email again thats when I posted here, thought someone else would have the same kind of story but not looking like it. J.D. on your wire slide divers, what setting do you use? and do you use the spring?
  4. my plan was to use them all year, when the fleas show up (now) start using them on wire but keeping the mono leader for them to slide on. having to many problems now going to stick with regular and mag dipsys
  5. i will go back to using the spring. the reason i stopped using the spring was the diver would hang up on the line and not slide all the way to the bead during retrieval. but that is better than having ruined slide divers
  6. i did not take the light bite arms off. they are regular slide divers not lite bite slide divers. the way kings hit i did not feel the extra $8 a peice was necessary for the lite bite version. i can't remember a time i dragged a fish on a diver. rigger or copper sure but not a diver. but if i had the lite bites i probably would not have this problem
  7. 400 copper dont worry about the extra weight. it will take fish even without it
  8. i will repost this pic, the line goes thru the diver arm (rod side) and exits the diver out the back where the bead and snap swivel are (lure side). the lure side is where the grooves are happening.
  9. first picture i posted where the diver is really grooved is right out of the package. a size 1 no alterations run for one day of trolling.
  10. front, but that is a 4 setting so it is angled out pretty good
  11. i agree longline. but why isnt it happening to anyone else who runs them? i never tried turning the tubing b/c it is just thick mono. thought it would pinch and hold. also i stopped using the spring on the diver arm after reading another thread where guys said you don't need it when running them on mono, maybe i will go back to using it.
  12. it does sound impossible. it must be slipping (which still means the mono is biting into it) because I didn't take a fish on that diver the last trip when the ring came back sliced.
  13. i could, but the beads are way back near the swivel when you snap the diver in place (70 feet back in my case). they do not stay near the diver since the water pressure pulls them back and away. so the line will always be touching the diver until it trips and slides down to the beads.
  14. take braid out of the equation. the mono is what is cutting/grooving the diver. i have it rigged exactly as stated by silver fox above, the only thing different is i have a plain spro swivel and not a ball bearing swivel after the bead and before the leader of choice
  15. that is true im not using the lite bite version, and you are correct that would keep the line from rubbing on the diver until it trips. but i have 6 of these things and am not trying to add any more.
  16. it does NOT slide on the braid. the braid is in front of the mono (albright knot). the knot would not pass through the diver eyelits. there is no way it is sliding on the braid. also they are made to slide on braid anyway! yes, i use an 8mm bead in front of the swivel. the control arm is not worn it is just not very smooth. Here is one on another rod that is rigged:
  17. thats what it looks like right? braid mainline. 70' 30# mono i guess i can't be sure it isn't slipping. i know when i trip the diver it is weightless for a while before it catches on the swivel. so I assume it is sliding for a long ways
  18. no im not, it runs just like a regular diver. im pretty sure if you ran it backwards it would be a spinning disaster. so the line running out the back to the lure is where it is getting chewed up.
  19. the only weight behind the diver is a 70ft piece of mono and a spoon. the 4oz weight goes inside the diver disc replacing the stock weight (comes with the 3oz right out of the package).
