did you seal the back end of the probe with vasoline or anything to help keep water out? also, are you using a clincher? or did you just strip some wire and tie the wire knot like you would with stainless dipsy diver wire? and keep the antenna wet this helps alot or you will be seeing - - -

hope it picks up. i would try some green spoons, glow frog or NBK. we took a king, two weeks ago now, on small walker diver 82mm out 115 on the wire. kings are tough to find this time of year

Coast guard had a serious boat out there on saturday. They were cruising the area throwing a massive wake but also saw them stop a boat and tie up to them! My gps puts me around 50FOW directly in front of the plant, that's as close as you can get without going inside the red lines.

just a heads up. bought some NEW cannon covers for my mag 10 stx. the cover does not fit around the rear rod holder... im guessing they won't fit around the digi troll holders either.

yea you need the 2nd keels. they come with a diagram i think its 14 and 9. do that exactly and never mess with them again. and you drill new holes an inch below the stock ones to tie into

i doubt it, it worked all last year fine and I haven't touched it since I got the boat from the previous owner. i emailed the company and they told me to send it in for repair.... display, servo, wires and all.

i have depth raider and when it stops working (shows - - - ) we pour water on the antennae and that gets it to work again for a while and then we have to do it again. ive tryed a wet rag but pouring water on it is the best fix. i dont know if cannon is the same tho

Having problems with my troll master. When I turn the batteries on the unit is showing black squares all the way across the screen. And none of the buttons work Resetting the batteries doesn't seem to help. Sometimes warming up the kicker and then resetting the batteries seems to do the trick but not always. Also when I do get it to run I eventually get an error message that says Rudddd or Ruddvu?? And when that pops up the numbers will not change on the display they are frozen in place but the dial still allows me to change speed.... Annyone ever heard of this stuff?

Are you using P-line flouro or p-line flouro-clear?

pretty similar to what i use: i just tie in 20' flouro line (not leader material) using willis knot for the spoon end. 20# is what im running. With your setup you have 2 extra knots with the barrel swivel. If your gonna leader below 20# then I would keep the swivel but if your not I would axe it. I only use spoons/plugs on leadcore b/c it doesn't get very deep. I use a stretch of 30# big game on the backer end, alrbight knot to braid, for the release to clip to.

you must not have much backing on your 553 with 500 ft of copper on it!
