  1. Don't be nervous with the touch screen I have a 720 and 70 echo both touch screen user friendly and have pinch to zoom very fast to work with. No problems two years now.
  2. Saw that one coming with all the used XD units out there for sale Funny they told us we didn't need surface speed and now we do . Just got to love marketing.
  3. Great unit been running one for two years . Fish finder works well and the draw speed on the gps is exceptional. The Garmin G2 card is great for lake Ontario and Erie. Navionics is working on a card I have a 901 Great Lakes East that they gave out for feedback and it can be updated with data from your sounder . There are some good half price deals out there as the unit is being changed from the touch screen to a button model. the stock transducer is good but you can update to the Airmar P66 which is better and get surface speed as a bonus . I have 5 Garmin units and they have been trouble free the last 5 years . This has been my experience and only my opinion some may differ.
  4. Vexilar Fishscout 800 $300 great unit not pricey total Vex reliable. I have tried them all best bang for the buck IMHO.

  9. Not of fan of inlines but the rubber band as stated in the previous post works well.
  10. Old school for sure I still have set a kicking around . They will work otter boards they are not but you can get by .Doubles are better than single. If you want to buy them I wouldn't put a lot of money in them.
  11. I got the 8in lazer I also have a 10in from a old lazer 3000 but I haven't tried it yet don't use a 10 much only for lakers.
  12. On season two its been great . The Honda motor is great don't let the plastic fool you its a tough auger. Cold start prime the bulb choke it if it doesn't go take the choke off it will fire let it warm up that is critical then it has lots of steam. Also there is a break in period it just gets better the more I use it.
  13. Yes they all use the same transducer only difference are the display heads.
  14. Yes they are the same you can also use a x4 probe which has better battery life .
  15. Rumour has it the MNR have stepped up and are collecting extra salmon eggs for any short falls that may occur this fall.
  16. Plastic bad word ? How are your Scotty's holding up .
  17. If you have the mast BJ sells a conversion kit to electric around $500 that is what we used on one of our set ups . They come complete switches wiring etc.
  18. I may be wrong but I think the motors are the same but the Cisco use a lower gear ratio . There is a price differential on the motors of about ten bucks with the Cisco being the less costly but the mast set up and switches are higher priced with the Cisco . Both set ups work well .
  19. 9amp I believe same motor as the pro tourney the older electrics used the smaller capt pack motor, I have both they work well the older set is over 20 years old still works well.
  20. Call them they have been more than helpful with me Great solid USA company

  22. you never know until you try it . Netted a 25lb king alive floating on the surface that broke off some ones rod it had a rapala with a broken lip hooked up to a dodger kept the tackle and released the fish . Ran a 10 inch 42nd spinny short leader hooked up to a 8inch 42 spinning a short leader hooked to a 42nd spoon . The chinnies ate it up at the bar a few years ago . Still laugh at that one .
  23. Yes I have a few lites use them for wallys . Salmon and trout hit hard and the light is not necessary but you can use the lites and by pass the lever it works like a standard diver that way .
  24. For salmon the regular works just fine . We use braid on a diver rod and wire on a roller rod . They have their days when they are hot they are hot. A lways have a pair on the boat . There is a learning curve but once figured out they work well.
  25. I run hot n tots the steelhead love them also the larger sizes work well on staged kings . I have a ton of them use them on Erie for eyes and lake O for steelhead . I am old school and almost a hundred years old.
