  1. Yes, any billfish is a good day. Marlin are indeed amazing and strong. The fastest fish in the ocean i believe.
  2. LOU members are the best!!
  3. Wanted to thank the LOU community and those kind enough to share your individual expertise...... I was able to fish an area that I was unfamiliar with, have a productive day, and make some great memories with my brother in law. Thank you everyone and tight lines.
  4. Dvdegeorge, how big was the fish?? They are incredible animals....... The fight is unbelievable.
  5. Thank you very much!! Really appreciate the info. I Dont have a lot of experience fishing big water lake O. I fish the SLR and Chaumont bay areas primarily. Not an experienced salmonoid fisherman except for the occasional king that takes a wrong turn Up the SLR during muskie season and is interested in a 10" bait! Always fun. Wish it happened more frequently. What baits do u recommend trolling for browns? Spoons primarily or will stick baits work? Thanks again!!
  6. Bill fish are awesome!!! Congrats on the nice catch. I have alwAys wanted to catch a mahi-mahi. Wife and I caught 2 striped marlin in Cabo a few years ago. Our first experience with bill fish. Highly addicting!!! Beautiful sailfish!!
  7. Is there a perch bite to be found? Any info at all would be very much appreciated!! Thank you, again.
  8. Hello Fellow LOU anglers...... Im headed to visit my brother in law in Ontario, NY and do a little fishing. I have never fished this area of the lake. We r launching from Hughs marina near Pultneyville ( between sodus and ontario). Can anyone point me in the right direction to find some walleyes? Or whatever may be biting best this time of year? Very much appreciate any general thoughts or direction. Thanks in advance!! Tight lines.
  9. Nice catch, Kevin. Thats quite a jump in water temp but boy it sure was warm Thursday. Glad to hear there are still some crappie to be caught. It was spotty earlier in the year.
  10. I think I will try the shad scent before I resort to the prep H.....
  11. Sk8.... That is an excellent point. I know several fisherman who swear by it. Yet gasoline is known to deter fish from biting if it ends up on your terminal gear. WD is a petroleum distillate so it would seem counter intuitive that it acts as a fish attractant. The environmental impact would give u pause even if it was effective. As an aside, I read an article a few years ago in In Fisherman about walleye pros using Preparation H as an attractant to give them an edge in tournaments with some degree of success.... Perhaps a bit more environmentally friendly and worth a few laughs too, lol
  12. Sorry to hear that kevin. Certainly a beautiful to be on the water. Too bad the eyes were not in the mood to dance. Sounds like you worked hard and gave them quite a menu to choose from. Hopefully things will heat up soon.
  13. Thank you for the update! Hope you were able relocate a few to your freezer.
  14. Crappies in general are excellent table fare but Boy those 9 and 10" crappies are very good eating.
  15. Roybee. That is so neat. Couldnt agree more- fish of a lifetime for sure!! As it turns out, by coincidence, my cousin knows your friend and he sent me the pic this morning. Beautiful fish and what a great experience.
  16. Would you be willing to give a general location as to where it was caught on the slr? Just out of curiosity. Nice to hear about the sturgeon.
  17. Wow a sturgeon!!! That is really cool. I'll bet that was a surprise, lol.
  18. What were water temps out of curiosity???
  19. Interesting thread. definitely going to give scent the old college try this year. It seems to make 'scents'.......
  20. Never caught one with tape worms that I am aware of..... Bit of a Yuck factor for sure.

    Eel bay

    Thats always disappointing.
  23. Good luck. Cannot wait!! Hoping it gets off to a better start this year than it did last year. Chaumont was a bit slow to start. Tight lines.
  24. Fished Green Lakes today with my son. Took several rainbows on 4# line, size 12 hook, bobber, and worm. Nice size fish. 11-13" We walked around the entire lake. There appears to be a decent population of LMB in the lake also. Saw a dozen or so suspended bass near the shoreline. Neat little lake.
