Here's a couple sites you'll want to keep an eye on. Coastal Fisherman will report more consistently as the season gets going. Tidalfish is more focused on the Chesapeake, but if you want to get a charter out of Cambridge or Taylors Island, it's only about an hour from OCMD. Most of the action is on the boats trolling huge spreads (20-30 lines) with big parachute jigs and umbrella rigs, but occasionally guys will get one or two from shore. Look at a Grady-White Islander 268. It's heavy enough to fish days that the Ranger wouldn't, but with an 8'6" beam and twin outboards, it's very trailerable (without permits!). It also has accomodations to stay a weekend on (flush head, full berth, etc.). Depending on how many times you fish the big lake per year, it may make sense to trailer and avoid some extra costs like slip fees, bottom painting, buying gas on the water, etc... Just my $0.02

It makes a huge mess, but you'll always take a shot when it happens. Maybe the fish like the sound of 200 spoons hitting the deck, or maybe it's my colorful language. Hehe Joking aside, I like my special mate box for how easy it is to organize and how it presents the spoons. Just be sure to keep it right side up. I had to redact on my previous comment - I was able to get down to 0.7 mph (had to check an old post)

I mis-spoke - the boat would get down to 0.7 mph SOG - just checked an old post. Plenty slow for most everything

My last boat was a 20' Grady-White with a 200 hp Mercury outboard. I used a trolling plate, and could get down to 1.3 mph, or as fast as 2.5 mph. You can modify the plate to be all the way down, half way up, or all the way up. I found I had more control with the plate than with bags. If storage is going to be a concern, being a multi-activity boat, you may want to consider that you do not need to store a trolling plate like you would with trolling bags. Just my $0.02

South Bay Boat and Tackle in Rochester had some NKs when I was there a month or so ago. Not sure if he has the specific spoon you're looking for, but worth a call.
