  1. No updates recently??? How is the "Dutch" & new acquisition? Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Those little pups all kick out the right rear leg about the same to eat. That must be the setup for a little extra room @ the trough. Nice looking pups Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Yeah, I'd like 1 of them. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Any reports? Or are we still on the couch drinking beers? You both look pretty serious sitting there thinking about birds! Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Hornet, the "hole" is not far from the west side pier. Get someone to give you the position w/ a pm. Head NW out the chute. Be a long paddle, but when you see 4 or 5 boats doing circles 1000 yards from the end of the pier, fish. Shipwreck near it closer to shore where you can get some strapbacks when they are schooled up late season. I forgot about that spot for a guy w/ paddles. 6. Lewis, which did turn people on that wouldn't eat a Laker & say yum before? I used to just soak em' in saltwater overnight & cook them with fresh herbs. Or kite the fish & smoke it for 4 to 6 hours & call it a Cayuga pizza. What is the winner? My girlfriend can take the smoked & turn it into a wicked dip for cornchips! That always disappears quickly. 7. Yanked copper on Cayuga yesterday & I'm trying the kens valdillia onion soak for a bbq for supper. I'm sure it will be good, but I'll report. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. That is the best bet. They have a dock on top of the permanent dock @ the little sodus inn public launch. Have a good line man & a little step ladder to get in. Your chines will be over the cheater slip. Last year w/ the drought, anything over 20' would fall off the edge of the concrete, if you have a giant, be leery backing in past the doors, you should be fine though. 9. Any more news on Dutch? Onion, nice dog too. Got the beast named yet? Some guys get excited over a good dog still. Been a month, let us know. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. X2 what steelie says. Hope the injury doesn't nag him & his temperament wasn't effected. Go Dutch Go. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Yes sir. The "Dutch" is enjoying the off-season. I'm sure the tarp nest he has wards off the nightmares about lake water with ice floating in it! Such a handsome dog. Glad all your research paid off for a helper as spirited as him. Looking forward to his progress this year. Keep the updates & pics coming. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I pushed the iceberg out of the State Park launch with a oar today., some ice floating, you can get into the lake being careful for bergs. Very foggy tonight. Fog called for Sunday morning. NNE wind less than 10mph they say. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Private message rammer! That means the general forum can't read it. It's between you or who ever sent you one. Get the weights. They are slick underwater. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Dutch is such serious Lil pup in all his pics. What a great dog you have. Tell him "The Frick" the perch hound says happy bday soon! Ohh man, that lonely cabin looks like a place I should take my new girlfriend for a weekend. She's worried that no stovepipe is sticking out the roof. Get me a reservation anyway. I'll keep her warm. 15. Great job Dutch. It's going to be a long winter for him to behave like a lazy lap dog while he has birds on the brain. His 1st flush next year will be full throttle. He will get lighter on the press with age and a no shot. He's still a pup. Glad you had a good time up in Maine. Keep updates coming. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Nice! No thicket is safe around him for sure. You have the real deal. Only will get better. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Nice! He looks very proud in the pic with the birds. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Nice pic! I'd frame that one. Dutch is enjoying himself. Keep the pics coming, he has a few fans. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I don't want to answer for bikini, but in old threads he has a couple color options. All are somewhat under water camouflage being lighter on the bottom getting darker towards the top. If a fish chases up to the sun "light color" or down to the depth "darker color", making the weight fishy, bet less noticable. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Yes, we want Dutch action pics! Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Good luck trying a squirrel dog. Mine won't stay still long enough. He will hide to break up a turkey flock on command, squirrel is chase on the brain for Frick. I let the snow get deep, fill up the bird feeder, let 2 or 3 get on it, wake my dog up, show him, open the door & he'll bring one back. Good for Noodles on the interest and patience for that. Glad it's working out well. Crock pot filled with spaghetti sauce. Your buddy won't know what it is unless you tell him. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    Carp fishing

I fished for carp my whole childhood. Very fun. My best was 34lb off the dock behind McDonald's in Lyons in the canal. 2 bucks for corn, and 2$ for lunch. Rode my bike down, cheap sitter for my mom. I still remember saving up for "spiderwire"! Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Try deeper, get your soft shells or rubber claws, and drag a concrete coffee can or mushroom anchor on the drift. That's my last go resort when it's tough. Stir up that bottom. Been a tough summer for smalls. I've been skunked a few times this year too. I'm very tan though pulling gamblers around for Lakers. They bite still. 24. I'm pretty sure Oswego Speedway only charges for classic weekend. The designated all around area is to the North East of the track with a circular driveway. People leave their campers there all summer. They might allow tents down there for a couple nights. If you want to sleep on the trailered boat, the old price chopper parking lot East side of the river has some street lights close. Corner of East 2nd St. & East Cayuga.
