  1. If it makes you feel better , I have been getting a fair amount down where I fish in the 6 to 10" range . I find they are generally in different spots than the bigger ones .
  2. Just for you entertainment and inquisitive knowledge , I was fishing Bass Fri night at Sandy and and got a good look at a 6# silver, steelhead or coho, jump about 15 ft off the end of the jetty . I got a real good look at it .
  3. I have one Im not a big fan It's heavy and pulls hard . It does get down deep though . I bought a # Chinook diver that gets as deep .
  4. What could possibly go wrong ?
  5. They paid 250 k for the Titanic experience. Looks like they got it.

    Bass tournament

IMO , this just sets a bad example . I was under the assumption that the law states you must unhook an out of season fish and immediately release it. No pic , no weigh . And I know there are guys who fish the beds . And other than the St Lawrence ( I think) you can C& R Bass out of season . I catch a lot of out of season Bass . But to have what amounts to a swarm of locusts converge on a lake for a week during closed/ spawning season is just wrong .Sets a bad example . They couldn't wait a few weeks till the season is open .The DEC and Finger lakes think this is a good idea ? There are some southern lakes that have multiple tournaments every week on them and the Bass fishing has gone from great to terrible on them because of it . A lot of fish die from the stress. So they ruin the lakes down there and they want to do it up here ? These are not stocked fish , it takes what , 6 years to grow a keeper size Bass .
  7. Let me preface this by saying I catch and release a lot of Bass this time of year . How is it that there is a Bass tournament on Cayuga lake when Bass season is closed and it's spawning season ? How does the DEC allow this ? And how do tournament organizers with good conscience think this is a good idea ?
  8. Good day to mow the lawn
  9. Just because you mark fish doesn't mean they are trout or salmon Could be Bass or perch or whatever .
  10. Looks pretty dark blue as it comes out of the Niagara to me . And disapates as the prevailing west to east current carries it down.
  11. This pic confirms what I thought was happening for years from spring till the thermocline sets up . That plume disapates the farther east it gets and peters out around devils nose at the farthest west . Do you want to know why the spring king fishery is so good west ? Look at that picture .
  12. That looks like the plume of the Niagara river to me
  13. The little ones sure looked happy on the way in and out of the channel
  14. That is typical of a bad coil . Runs good cool and after it heats up, it just dies . Then it cools and runs again . Check all coils for little cracks . Run in driveway after dark and look for arcing under the flywheel and sparkplug wires .
  15. So Must be you have spark on all cylinders if you tore the carbs apart .
  16. Nice of them to take care of business. But sounds to me they are selling a defective product .
  17. Looks to me like the cylinder is not firing . Probably electrical is my guess . If it was carburetion or fuel delivery , it would run rough and smoke when you first changed the plug. Clean the plug good switch it with a good cylinder and run it to see what happens . Check for spark
  18. More days than I like to admit that I never had a hit and all I came back to port with was my dick in my hand. So sounds to me like you had a pretty good morning 🌞
  19. OMC outboards are notorious vdor this Check for spark in all cylinders . Does it have 3 carbs ? Those power packs have a tendency to go . Along with the coils . If it runs better cool it probably electrical .
  20. " ONLY " has an " abismal" 12 fish on in a mornings fishing " . Wow
  21. What I am looking for is down speed and temp . I don't care how I get it . I had an X4 and liked it , I have a Cannon Speed and Temp and when it worked I liked it . I have read on here problems with Fish Hawk probes . 400$ + replacement . 11Oo for new unit . Depth Raider is 600 , replacement probe 275 . I have heard of no problems with their probes . So from a value perspective , the depth raider sounds like the best bang for my fishing buck . I have talked to people who have owned both and good things .
  22. Weather / wind was good for the most part , a lot of fishable days . Nice green water where I was Marked lots of fish and bait . Never took a hit above 50 ft and I think we had around 50 hits . Although I set lines there and moved them deeper . All fish came 50 to 100 ft down .
  23. So my new to me boat came with a Cannon Speed and Temp . Worked great and now it doesn't . I played with it a while and I'm done with it . I had an X4 on my old boat and liked it , $ 1100 new . My Cannon Speed and Temp has depth raider technology . It worked , I was happy with it . 550$ new . Half the price . I'm torn , any thoughts , and where can I get one ?
  24. And really , The Oak , Bald Eagle , or Sandy are all good mid lake , mid/early summer ports to fish out of. Can't go wrong with any of them IMO . Accomodations might be determining factor . Fishing lake wide wasn't great last year .
