I have been lucky enough to have fished this since the first stockings . Was not uncommon to get a 30# salmon , 15# steelhead or brown. For some reason or another , the size has been down . Nobody knows for sure . But this year we had great fishing on the lake . Good numbers of kings . Better than the last 2 . I'm happy with that . I'm glad and greatfull there are kings out there to catch , even if they are somewhat smaller . Hopefully the people who give us this great fishery which is literally our my back door can figure it out and keep it going . And who says that they are not studding as to why this is happening ? I guess it bothers me a bit when a cooler full of 15# to #25 kings is an embarrassment . When a day like that is deemed a failure , gentlemen, we are in hell . Which begs the question ,what do you really want ? We could be fishing for catfish .

Michigan went thru a long time of small fish . The general consensus was that it was from a baitfish crash. An it seems like things are getting back to normal there . So there is hope . If the average size is bigger next year , we can assume those fish we were catching that were 12 to 18# were 2 year olds .

My point is I did not catch jacks this year and got a bunch last year , more than any other year for some reason. And I know size is down . I see it . And realistically , NOBODY , knows for sure why . We all can speculate , and I have my thoughts , but it's just that , speculation . So untill we know exactly why , I feel you can't shut down the livelihoods of those who have invested a lot and depend on the fishery for their living. Hey man , I got a lot of kings this year , and a lot of 2 year olds . Next year might be great .

Last year I caught a bunch of Jacks skien fishing the creek . This year I did not catch one . And did not see anyone else catch one . So I'm going to take a wait and see attitude on this . Maybe next year will be better size wise . We had a few good years of bait and the stocking is going to increase . And we did catch a bunch of 2 year olds this year that had good size

Non of the above bothers the lake fishery a bit . Other than some nat reproduction .

All this crazy behavior on the tribs is not new and has been going on since the beginning . Snagging was legal for the longest time . And the fish were huge back then . What is going on now on the tribs is probably the most ethical it has ever been . Trib fisherman contribute huge monetary to the state ,and more importantly , the local economy. On Sandy yesterday on my way down to my cottage the bridges were packed with out of state cars . An awfull lot of money changes hands in motels , restaurants ,license, tackle shops . Which is why the fish are stocked . It amazes me that people who benefit monetary wise from the fishery , are critical of others that do so . What goes on in the tribs , really doesn't affect the quality of the fishing in the lake . Stop blaming trib anglers for the woes of the fishery .

I have the DEC officers on speed dial. I can see outlaw behavior from my Sun room . They said call when you see something and there has been a presence this year on my creek without a call . I asked one officer a few years back why he did not come down more often at night . He told me he would like to but does not like to come around nights alone because they serve a lot of warrants . I told him I did not blame him . I don't want to read about something bad happening to an officer over a snagged fish . And if I remember right , it was the Dems who wanted to defund law enforcement and made them out to be the bad guys which also emboldened the criminals . Not working out like you thought it would? We have a president and elected representatives that sidestep the constitution and want to get rid of it. Anyone with a pulse can see that . Trumps not the president anymore , remember . But he still gets blamed for everything .

We aren't talking about a few outlaws snagging fish here . This is a group effort . And a statement in my opinion . Whats funny is that things have gotten so bad in the Dem party and this country that the front runner for president is a guy with 91 felonies . Those " funny" people, or any true American, sees exactly what is going on . Using the justice system to eliminate your political opposition? And some are OK with that ? What has this country become ? Go ahead and reelect Biden and ruin what's left of America.

This looks to me like the Natives are making a statement about something . I remember a while back of tires being burned on the Thruway south of Buffalo where it crosses Natives land over revenue sharing or something . I haven't heard of any of this being a problem in the past on the Salmon or anywhere else . Can't blame the Dems for the Lake trout . But we sure can for the rest of the Dumpster fire we see everyday in this State and Country . It's a **** show on steroids and who's in charge?

Whatever the treaty says is what we should abide by .

On the contrary man Leadership sets the tone. Look at any good sports team , great players with lousy leadership don't do well . Look who is at the helm now . Nuff said .

This is society and America today . Why not do whatever you want to do? Laws and the Constitution are just pieces of paper that get in the way of that . Break the law and get arrested , no bail and released . We see it everyday on our TV sets . Our enemies test us everyday because they know we are weak and will do nothing . Our own leaders do as they wish with no regard for laws or the people they represent . Monkey see , Monkey do . And we just sit back and watch it all happen . Only one leader can save us from all this and turn things around .

A few weeks ago I started my 35 Merc the first time since last year with the muffs . It wasn't peeing water and then started just a little . I kind of push on the hole and moved the rubber around . I pulled about a 1" piece of some gummy substance out which I figured was bug residue . Strong steam after that and I just used it hard for 2 days .

That's my understanding

That was the plan . I was supposed be retired by now but my services are in demand . I met with a plastic guy that went nowhere . And see some guys who are small lure manufacturers put an awfully lot of work into it. And there will be labor intensive . And I see Bayrat go out of buisness so I'm apprehensive . And I don't have the time right now . But I still use them and they work .

For my stacker I like a Roamer with a offshore or better a Scotty through the metal clip on the arm . Best of both worlds . Roamer slides up and down and pinch pad release is what I like to use .

I run flashers 25 ft Spoons 5 to 10 above and below flasher 30 ft back Although temp was shallow that day so I ran the spoons back 50. Also my slide divers were good
