  1. I think I will keep them and try them again someday. I like the slide diver concept. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Just ordered them. The blood run site tells what size you need for each make of spoons. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Just got a dexter 1378, nice knife. Thanks for the tip. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Oh, thanks. Maybe I will remove it then, because if you look at the picture, I use the stainless holders that stick straight up for my planers, and the level ones for my divers. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. What size impaler will work for most salmon size spoons? I'd like order some. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Here's a picture of the spoon with bad hook....lost a good fish because of it. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I made a rocket launcher for the boat, out of PVC. I am wondering what they are used for? Obviously, to hold rods, but when do you use them? Are they used between home and the launch, or are they used during the day while fishing to temporarily hold rods? I keep my rods in the side rod holders under the gunwales. They do need to be taken down to put in the holders, but I keep them in the boat always, don't have to meds with them at 430 am in the morning. I hope this is not a stupid question, but I do wonder what the use of the rocket launcher is for different folks, since I just built one! Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Had a big salmon straighten one on slammer spoon today. Of course he was gone. Went through all my spoons and found another one similar to it, so replaced it too. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. I sprayed mine last year with silicone tent spray. Then, yesterday, bought some Scotch guard at Walmart. Need to treat it again. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Here's what I do with pool noodles. I decided to fill some spaces under the floor with them, since that guy's boat went down so tragically last year. After I restored my old caravelle, and saw how the spray on urethane foam the older boats have is actually a sponge that absorbs water, I thought it would be a good idea. Also use it so I don't lose another net, and on my steering arm. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Got an early start, 515 am. So foggy could only go 4 mph out to 100 FOW where I started, just west of harbor. Caught 5 lost one. Then it became so foggy I used the auto pilot to get back to harbor, at 3 mph. I caught mine from 125 to 150. DR down 80 worked with a moonshine spoon. Divers back 180 working one with spoon one with SD and stud fly. everything basically worked. Another boat also had to quit, and they hooked 12, out in 220 FOW, and they were only down 30 to 40. No marks of fish or bait to speak of. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Thanks again for the posts Laurie! You really are doing great.
  13. I did use the planer Gizmo they came with. I think the planet part worked ok, bit the diver part seemed a little small, the thing did not seem to dive as much as say a Chinook diver. I hate to day too much because I don't think I gave them enough of a try. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. My first year at salmon I used 15 lb. After losing $100 worth of gear, I switched to 30 lb mono. Then I went to 45 or even 60 lb braid. My wire divers have 30 lb floro leaders. I would say 25 lb is the minimum whatever you use. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I smoke my own, but sometimes wish I could farm it out! Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. My Boat came with 4. I removed 2. I use 2 Drs, 2 with divers, and a lead core if I want a 5th. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Here is the video , I guess I should have used the ring. seems to work though. http://www.anglersavenueproshop.com/videos/
  18. I use the OR 16 orange (with pin) on the back so I won't lose board
  19. I have 3 or 4 of them, but I have only used them several times. So, I cannot help unfortunately. I forgot why I went back to dipseys and chinook divers, but I think it had to do with the rubber tubing not holding the wire.....
  20. Great day Laurie! Do curious, what made you decide to go to 230 fow to start? I always wonder where to start, shallow or deep or Midway. Thanks. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
