Just watched a Roland Martin episode on stripers. They found schools and hand casted top water walkers with good success. They also trolled and handcasted large swimbaits as well as umbrella rigs with two chasers (trailing swimbaits). Caught more than they could handle, sometimes 6 on at once. Try searching utube including body of water & striper.

Available daily sunlight, water temps below 50, and bait fish are determining factors for transitioning bass. Winter is right around the corner. Your best chances are what others have stated, IMO start in 15 fow on structure/ledge/ point/ dropoff etc. Cast shallow and if no good go deep. Or just go deep. They are transitioning to winter homes. We saw fish finder filled with fish in 25 fow on sodus Sunday. I would target smallies. They tend to be more active than largeies in cooler water.

If you using walleye boards like tx 44 I have seen 7' to 7'6 med heavy to heavy rods, braided or mono main line with fluoro leader. Trolling for walleye from what I understand is slower than salmonid. Don't think you have to go big or get too crazy unless you want too.

I have a small boat with small setup. I'm interested I directional divers and divers that will reach 50-75fow minus the big pull. I do not own dipsy rods but do own 7' medium heavy rods. Mainly troll finger lakes or trib. Primarily walleye & trout. I have never owned dipsys and need to know some things. What is the significance in dipsy color ? What brand would you recommend ? Any insight is helpful. I'm trying to learn. Thanks

I fished the Creek in rush since I was a kid. Your best shot is above the falls this time of year but you won't get back too far on foot. At the falls fish have moved out befor summer. But your odds of getting anything there are pretty slim unless you have a kayak. Even then,it's slim chance. Where ever you go make sure there is some deeper water around, like a point. This time of year they are following baitfish which means deeper water. They are transitioning to winter homes. Hrs of available sunlight and water temps are the biggest factors especially on creeks. Lakes are different story. Good luck
