  1. I run braid on my dipseys and #3 settings. I struggle with figuring depth that far . Once I get past the usual 1/3rd split say 210 for 70' I get lost. You mentioned 290, what depth do you think you're hitting? I'm assuming 90 +, or do they bottom out closer to 80?

We just go in from 350-450'. Went 5 for 9. Got 3 Kings and 2 Steelhead. 3 fish came 131' down on rigger with white flasher and white fly.
other 2 were 290 out on meat with braid  on dipsy #3 setting.

  2. Now you're talking. She's good for every species you want to target. She didn't let you down. You know my rig. Jack of all trades from salt to salmon. The old mariner is a tank. It's great to see you upgrade to a nice salmon rig, life long dream for me but probably never happen. I'm fortunate to have met a few guys here that are willing to take me along when the lake is too big. But as you well know, there's nothing like the battle of a 30+ king in a small craft. Good luck , keep it tight.

  3. Following from the comfort of home this weekend. This year has definitely raised some questions. Don't know if they're doing the labor day water release on the river for the kayakers. Usually simulates some movement but the water is like a bath tub. Be safe this weekend, doesn't look too friendly for small crafters, but I know a few of you salts will get it done.

  4. Great to hear you're still in the game. I hope the family recovered well. Sharing your mishap is most honorable. Folks are upgrading safety equipment, having drills, picking up floating debri, etc. My last couple of trips out you were on our minds. Good luck with the new rig, hope to see you again, I'm sure I will. I'm always in the market for a bigger boat, but until it finds me, we'll keep at it. See you on the pond buddy. Clark

  5. Just got home. What a run, definitely covered some water this weekend. I haven't had this much fun not catching fish in a long time. Great bunch of folks here. I'll be back at it labor day weekend. Thanks for the laughs, definitely need that. And thanks again Mike for allowing me backon board .
FYI, that flasher fly combo you gave me sucks. Lmao
