Those are marketed under the brand name Walker Downrigger Dual Planer Boards 109.00 on amazon, FishUSA stopped carrying them, can be ordered from Bass Pro as well...complaints online about them flipping, collapsing, arms breaking, which may be why FishUSA isnt carrying them anymore. Also a couple good reviews on line so ..... your mileage may vary... Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United -

No offense but an absurdly broad question ... you might do better going on a charter during the season to learn or ask more specific questions... there is a ton of previous threads to read through I would start there ... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

To illustrate his point on temp variations I ran the hawk east side last weekend north of plant water temp at surface 62 water at 80 ft 61 water at 90 ft 59 water at 100 55... Move to east side water at 80 was 55 directly across the lake Move north of sheldrake temp at 45 feet was 55 .... Mad variations Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Below is a link regarding recruitment. I few folks on here have inquired about joining the Auxiliary. We can certainly use more members, and particularly those willing to crew on Patrols on the lake. If you are interested in exploring opportunities please reach out. We can certainly use more help. This is a rewarding way to give back and improve the safety on the lake. We are under the Department of Homeland Security, and the United States Coast Guard so the back grounds and training are quite extensive so it is a commitment but well worth it especially being able to help people on days that are probably not their best....If you have interest in what we do reach out over PM......Safe boating and Good Fishing......

While out on Cayuga Sunday on patrol I recovered a floating piece of equipment. If you lost something that floats and can accurately describe it...it is yours just contact me. Mark

I am continually impressed by the openness of the majority of LOU members to share experiences good or bad so that others may learn....this kind of sharing makes people think and can help save others ....and improve our collective abilities.... and lowering your antenna was right call..vhf is line of site it might have extended your range but it can always be put back up.... I carry a portable waterproof for 120.00 for the oh ... c... situations...

If you are paying attention to Radar and you pay attention to clouds you might see it coming, however thunderstorms can be imbedded in other cloud cover and can move upwards of 50 kts speed over ground. It is not that hard while out fishing and doing other activities to be caught unaware. They also don’t necessarily give you warning thunder... The guidance is get off the water if you can, the next is get as close to taller items as you can. Anchoring allows you to stay low in the boat.. not having to drive.. the depth is an obvious duh if it’s too deep ..I forgot to add shutting off all electronics.... The worst position is to be in the middle of the lake.... I doubt anyone would have a problem providing shelter if you put your boat into shore though no legal duty exists...
