  1. Welcome Jason, you picked a great site to join. Lots of great members willing to help. Unfortunately u may not find much info on the Pack here. I am from Lake Ariel,PA. I spend a good amount of time on the pack when I’m not fishing Lake Ontario. Lake Wallenpaupack is one of the hardest lakes I’ve fished and took me 4 years to catch a fish. Lol. Shot me a PM and i will try to help to get ya started there. I run a 25ft blue and white trophy rigged with planer mast and riggers. U may have seen me launching from the state launch bein there isn’t many boats on the lake rigged for Lake Ontario.
  2. Looks like a really long fish. Great catch. Yea i see you guys on your kayaks salmon fishing and always thought u guys are nuts years ago in the trailer hole on salmon river i watched a guy get towed around for what seemed like hrs with a fish that size. Gotta b exciting the boat that fish on a kayak
  3. Thanks Whaler, we have a blast on the ice. Had to take a break to get the boat ready for spring browns. Thats done so maybe get another trip or two on the ice yet this year
  4. “Super Sunday Slamfest” 2-2-20 with a warm up comin again the next day we knew this was gonna be our last day for another few weeks. We decided to start a tradition and bring the grill and have a cookout on ice. we started the day at 7am the wife and I met my buddy, his two kids, and another friend of his and picked up where we left off the day before. With my freezer almost full i decided to try my luck with stripers, browns, and walleyes, setting up 8jawjackers and 10 tip-ups with live bait and let the wife do all the jiggin. Once again the bite was on. We were all within feet of eachother and everyone was hitting panfish. at 8:30 it was time to get the grill goin and have some eggs for breakfeast. 11:00 i pulled out the cordless fillet knife and put it to work on a dozen jumbo perch for lunch. Great trip with good friends. By 2:00 it was time to wrap up. We ended the day with 200+ panfish on ice.i was a little disappointed with no action with all the jackers and tip-ups i had out but the jiggin definitely made up for it.
  5. 2/1/20 with the hot bite and lack of bein able to get on the ice I committed myself into a weekend of fishin to stock up the freezer with panfish fillets. I called my buddy and met him and his two sons on the cove at 7am. We fished till 1:00 and by then we had 200 fish on ice. The better half were jumbo perch. I had 8jawjackers out and they contributed 2 smallies. Everything came on the jiggin rods. Another great day on the ice.
  6. It’s been a rough ice season for us all , especially here in Northeast PA this year. I still been getting and having some good action. With few lakes having safe ice i had spend more time on lakes further North. Two weeks ago we had some cold nights and my “go to lake” Lake Wallenpaupack had a solid 4-5in. In some of the coves. I started lookin for safe ice friday afternoon and at 3:00 i found it had good ice in my #1 cove. Fished 3:00-5:00 and ended with 28 jumbo perch and 12 nice gills. The bite was so hot i called to wife to come right to the lake when she got out of work at 4:00. Definitely nice to get on the ice and find the bite
  7. I’m anticipating my first trip for browns mid March. Got all my winter maintenance done and the boat is ready to go. Bein done the tarp is off and its out of the garage to make room for my equipment maintenance and have no room to put it back in and go figure its single digits tonight. Maybe i pulled the trigger to sooon.
  8. X3. Becouse of members like Sk8man i feel what should have takin 10 years to learn I learned in 3. Bein a weekend warrior i dont get much time to learn on my own so this site is a huge help.

  10. These guys definitely put out some good videos. I spent the last week pullin the motor out of my 25ft trophy, rebuilding and putting it back together, along with other maintenance for the upcoming season. Meanwhile the 60” in the garage is playin these guys videos This is my 4th year on Lake Ontario and knew nothin when i started. The little bit of knowledge i got came from a handfull of videos and members from this site
  11. I’m lookin to pick up two adjustable bases for my Big Jon downriggers. I sold my old cannon mag 10’s and lookin to add two more big jons. If anyone got some they not using please let me know. thanks. mike
  12. I am in the market for a second flasher. I have a marcum showdown 5.6 and absolutely love it. Me and the wife always fish together sharing it and thats getting old. I prefer a showdown or lx7. I cannot afford a new unit so lookin for something used in good condition. If the price is right i may even go with a vexilar or differnt then a marcum. Let ne know what you got and a price and we will go from there. I am from Scranton PA so most likley need to be shipped and i use paypall for payment. Thank You Mike.
  13. I started fishing Lake Ontario 20 years ago in my grandfathers 14 smokercraft when i was 12. We trailered it from scranton,Pa and sometimes the boat wouldnt leave the trailer, sometimes only get a few hrs of fishing in the AM, seldom get to fish all day. now in my 30’s i bought a 25ft boat and still trailer back and forth from Scranton PA, and it’s the same thing. Theres been a few days this year the boat didnt leave the trailer. Big boat,Small boat, gotta pick ur days
  14. I’m so sorry to hear about your troubles. I was planning on coming back up this morning and stayin till tomorrow but before i left i checked the trailer and two wheel bearings are ready to let loose so I canceled the trip. If i was up i would of definitely brought you aboard. Maybe post a new topic “lookin for an open seat”. I’m sure there are other members lookin for company.
  15. Congratulations. For the time you got out you did awesome. I was in the same position as you last year with the itch to salmon fish but no idea how to do it. The members on this site got me on the fish. I hope i was of some help and sorry i left the day you were getting there. Good job and I’m sure you will be back again next year
  16. Last night the bite was on. 80fow-100fow. Dipseys riggers all FF. Ended 7/9. Our best trip out so far. All high teen low 20’s fish. This morning things are a little choppie. Got 3 dipseys out and workin on sending riggers and 2 of 3 dipseys fire. Workin the same area as last night.
  17. Fished this morning 7am to 10am. Went 2/4. Blue UV FF 200 setting 2 on wire dipsey doin all the damage. 14 and 24lb. Came out this evening at 4pm. 2hrs into it im 4/9. Every time that blue UV FF goes out on dipsey comes back with a fish. No rigger action so far. Stayin in the 80-95FOW
  18. Well the big day is finally over and the best part is here. 3 days of salmon fishin with the Bride! We got a slip in salmon country and stayin 7min away at a lakefront cabin. Started the day yesterday in 110FOW and trolled out to 135FOW Nd at 9:00am my blueUV FF fires on wire dipsey 2nd setting 200ft back. Right after a two Faced spoon fires of rigger parked at 80. Then the blue uvFF again on same dipsey. Went 3/4 and came in for noon. Went back out at 5:00,but this time started my troll in 80FOW and got right on hungry fish. They hit everything. Meat,FF,spoon, and j-plugs. Went 6/10. Even had a quadruple hook-up. Landed 3 out of the 4 and durring the chaos one fish wrapped the 450copper Nd made a mess lost that fish after landing first two but beforw he was gone another fish hit the remaining 300ft of copper that was pulled a J-plug and had to handline him in. Complete chaos but definitely exciting. had a late start this morning getting out here at 7:30 and so far not much goin on. Will report back I take that back as I’m typin a dipsey pullin meat at first setting 150 back fired
