2025 LOTSA Pen Rearing Close Out.

We are closing out another successful Pen Rearing Season.  Monday evening, April 28^th we released the salmon and steelhead to 18 Mile Creek in Olcott.  Growth rates were good as expected, the salmon averaged 67 fish to the pound and the steelhead averaged 14 fish to the pound.  Hazing efforts by USGS/APHIS and a couple of volunteers attributed very few cormorants in the area at the time of release and the following day.  With any luck the wind and stained water will give these fish a great chance for survival. 

The pens were removed and cleaned on Wednesday morning and are ready for the 2026 season.
