Today I pulled my boat for the winter and it is time to look at the pros and cons of having a slip in Sandy as opposed to trailering.

Not having to prepare the boat for trailering and just driving half an hour and stepping on the boat is fantastic. I was a bit worried about refueling the boat while in the water , but using a jiggle hose instead of a funnel solved that issue. so much for mechanical issues. The creek itself is problematic specially toward the end of the season with low water and sunken trees. My learning curve  included having to replace a propeller.

I will look for a slip closer to the lake so there will not be a  shallow water problem.

Cleaning the bottom of my aluminum boat turns out not to be as bad as I thought it would be. I use something called slimy grimy and it works amazingly well. I probably will do a repaint of the bottom this fall.

Then there are the people on the creek. Maybe it is the peaceful vibes that the creek gives off , the other fisherman were all welcoming and friendly. Tom of East Fork Marina is a very nice person whom it would be nice to have as a friend. Frank from Sleepy Hollow Marina next to Eastfork gave me rides back and forth to the public launch when I needed to pull my boat for maintenance. All in all there is a very nice community of fisherman and residents. Thank you ! There is also a veritable treasure of  fishing experience which I will try to dig into by bringing a case of beer to Tom's picnic table. I hope you good people like Sam Adams.

The way it looks now, I will be back next year.

Thank you all for your welcome and I hope to get to know you all a little bit better next year.
