Salmon 2025

Where are the Salmon that didn't run ?  I know, the lake.

So do they not feed. Or 500' down in the west. Or is it the same as summer- fall?

Immature salmon can be anywhere. The game is the same- temps and bait. The more stable water will be offshore 400’+. December will have a move of bait and kings around the Niagara mouth if temps stay moderate. After mid-December the lake is transitioning into winter mode with temp profiles changing with cooling surface water. By January, bottom temps are warmer than the epilimnion which moves the food web and predators DEEP. At that point fish become almost unreachable without specialized gear.
