Im in the middle of a complete gut job on my aluminum boat, all aluminum zero wood! Definitely has its pros and cons to that when it comes to glue. Anyway i am completely torn on what type of flooring to put down on the main cockpit / deck area.  The front and back decks with be Carpet. My big concern with the foams that are so popular now a days is longevity? Even though all the new boats are coming from the factory with it, I read the life expectancy is around 3 -5 years.  100k for a boat and that needs the decking to be replaced in 3-5?? Seems crazy to me. A lot of reviews seem to be boats that are in the sun all season long and or in salt. Mine would be niether, but at the same time will be used regularly. For people who have experience with it in our region what are your thoughts on Foam vs.  Carpet  vs. Vinyl? Vinyl to me seems great but would get extremely hot giving the deck being aluminum.  Thanks for any thoughts good or bad!
