Haven't been on the big lake since spring brown fishing. We got to the launch about 7:30 - no one else there. First thing I noticed was it didn't sound like Jurassic Park like it had in the spring - much fewer cormorants. We had no idea where to start so we cruised out to 300" not marking anything on the way out. We set up a pair of 10 color lead cores, 3 riggers & two wire - dipsy - fly set ups. We don't have down speed / temp so no idea. We worked in & out to 700' seeing very few marks & no bait. Hit a 5# king on a spoon on 100" rigger - then quiet - swapped things around ending up with spoons on the dipsies & worked from 40' to 100' down. The 80' rigger with a free slider took the most hits on either lure, several shake offs & ended with a 12# king at 2 PM down 80' - four dinks & the two small ones & probably 5 hits / get offs. Grandson was thrilled & grandpa was happy. We also had the research boat around us all day but we only saw a couple other fishing boats a ways off .
