Hi Fishermen and Women of Lake Ontario United

I am a Master Scuba Diver Instructor and own a dive shop in Oakville Ontario called Oakville Divers at 16 mile creek bridge and Lakeshore road west.

I am a 2nd generation Professional Diver and have been running and working in a dive shop and dive boats from the age of six. I also work as a professional water and ice safety diver and diving supervisor for Imax, Discovery , Tv, Feature Film, Indie, and corporate commercial events.

I dive professionally and salvage sunken boats, cars , planes, trucks , forklifts, barges, you name it in Ontario. I have purchased a side scan sonar and I am presently looking for shipwrecks from Hamilton to Toronto for the last two years.

I am interested if any of you fisherman have lost any gear and wish to recover it. Or any info on a bad spot that snags gear within 120 feet of water. Maybe we can help each other out. I can get you some new or lost gear and tackle and you can help me find a shipwreck.

I would also ask you to become part of our team and take credit for the discovery if you wish. This summer I will concentrate searches in the Port Credit/ Oakville area. We also run scans when we are coming back from jobs.

If you are in the area say hello everyone is always welcome. If we are out on the boat wait until the dive flag is down and drop by and say hello.

I also specialize in lady's wedding bands lost off boats in the harbor if know one touches or disturbs the bottom. If you lose some thing off shore and wish to recover it make it ASAP with GPS or put down the anchor and line mark it on the surface and we can get it back for you.

For deeper sites we are going to invest in a new robot to do the deep work searches.

Thanks for your Time

Cheers

Robert Shannon

Welcome aboard.

I have lost a probe somewhere in 40 FOW and I have marked it on my GPS system in Webster. I am sure you will find many fishermen on this site who have lost their temp and speed probe.

Best of luck.

I hope to use finding lost gear to meet everyone and hopefully find a new shipwreck. I just got a lady her wedding band back. Lost it at the dock 16 feet into the blacked out muddy harbor sludge. The most fun I have had in a while. She was so happy it made my day.

The calls usually start with I heard you divers say you didn't find it. You just kept it. It is better for me to give it back and build my rep. I have been recovering rings and various things for 30 years and it's great fun. I usually ask who told them that story then ask for that persons phone number. They ask why? I say I want to give them a call and tell them I am the guy who gives it back and call me next time.

I have many references in most marina's and boat clubs.

Another good trick is the fish cam you can use them on a stick to locate lost things and recover them. Its also good to have a look at your boat for damage.

cheers

Rob
