WIRE REPAIR

Recommended Posts

I thought about this before but haven't tried it. I use a perfection knot in the wire for my connections to terminal stuff like the dipsy and I know the knot is friendly to the wire so if I were to do emergency surgery to the middle of the wire it would involve the perfection loop in it.

perfection loop in each end of the cut wire and then perfection loop in a short section of 30 lb mono half hitched to one side of the wire (loop to loop), connect the other end of the mono with a double improved clinch knot to the other wire end loop. The double improved knot is strong but will make a large knot in 30 mono. The loop knots are not very big but retain near 100% strength.

Let us know how it works ;) ....I use the loop in wire and double improved clinch on backing of braid with no problems.
