Downrigger weights

I just jumped feet first into two new Scotty riggers (1116). What weights should I get for:

an occasional trip to Ontario

mostly fishing the finger lakes

maybe even trolling for walleye on Oneida

I've seen torpedo and cannon ball style, 12-20lbs weights ...

I remember seeing a conversation about all this but my search didn't come up with what i was hoping for.

Thoughts?

Get the torpedos.Less blowback and they track straight.Theres a guy that sells them in the classified section (troutman 87).I bought 2 and couldnt be happier.
