big jon otter boards knot placement

I know this has been asked a million times. Does somebody have the magic distance for the knot on the otter boards?

We were told it was 9" at a seminar which was different than what the company's instructions said (we were told). However, I know someone who recently purchased some otter boats and it said 9" in the instructions.

He said they ran great at the 9" distance from the front hole.

Thanks Clark. 9" from the front hole? Did someone shoot a turkey on the Diaz farm during the youth hunt? Heard a bang!

9 in the front and 11 in the back. I used the company directions and they ran marginal, but when i was told to try the 9&11 they ran much better especially with a heavy load on them.
