  1. Yeah, those kings i was catching on saturday in under 100' had some energy. More than they have had all year as far as im concerned. I had a whack on the wire out 50 and it just sang for 300 or so feet. Gotta love these things!
  2. Hey you talked to my old man today. I would love a video of it. Do you have it on a file you could e-mail me? I would ike to put some of it on the website.
  3. What a heck of a day! From watching the reports all week and not seeing a solid report I was worried we might have a tough day ahead of us. The day started off with a nice 10lb Brownie and then the Kings came to play. Everything I put in the water today went. We started off this morning in 40-60 fow between Braddock's point and Lighthouse point. Fish and bait were everywhere, and cold water was in. First King took a Copper NBK off the rigger 60 back 25 down (18lbs). Then the wire went with a coyote 28 on a 2.5 setting 50 back (lost it). A short while later the 10 color took off with a Stinger Gin and Juice. Foul hooked 15 lb Salmon that took too long to bring in. The warm water moved in so we headed out to that 90-110 and started to pick up more kings between 60-90 down. Copper NBKs were the best spoon today. Other lures that fired were the ATOMIK Coyote fly (a fly I asked Tom Allen to tie up for me and this was my first time running it), Stinger green dolphin in an alewife pattern took the big guy today 80 down 50 back (24lbs). The copper was the last to fire out 450 with a Trash Can/Green dodger and an ATOMIK crinkle green with some mirage in it. During a few of the king battles we hooked up with some steelies in the 4-6lb range. All n all we ended the day 8-10 and green was the color for the most part. Also, we hit the LO grand slam with a brownie, laker, salmon, and a steelie. It seemed like the kings wanted a super slim or the small stingers today.
  4. Nope, but its simple. Instead of taking the hook harness and putting it through the j-plug take a squid all hooked up and slide the leader through the bottom of the plug and hook the loop to your swivel from the rod. Let me see if I can get a pic for you tomarrow when im out.
  5. Hey dude ya think I can cut my boat out of those videos? I would love that for the website. Its too bad you didnt get me chucking apples at that baha that caught my copper on day two of Sodus . Now there would have been some good footage.
  6. Hey Jax.....you may of caught more on your side, but the bigger ones came off mine! IF you would have payed attention you might have caught something I was doing differently. By the way you dont win tourneys on numbers, but you do on bigger fish!
  7. Gotta bite - WE put two 30lb Salmon in the boat last year (One JUly 4th weekend and one Labor day weekend). The one JUly fourth weekend took a pink glow squid. I finally found some more of these in the last few weeks and I plan on running them in the next few weeks. Another thing you can do with squids is put them through your j-plug instead of the hook harness.
  8. Im running 25lb McCoy Mean Green, which is a mono line.
  9. J.D. is correct, but sometimes the fish can get leadcore shy and the longer leader is the key!
  10. I use 100' but you will get a hundred different answers to this one. Some guys swear by 25'. If you do 100' by the end of the season it wil lbe down quite a bit. There is no wrong asnwer to this as long as your above 25' IMHO
  11. I have 6 white with double crushed glow and 6 Green with double crushed glow. $7/per flasher. These are the directional flashers.
  12. I would be interested in two 9'6" heartland dipsey rods if hyou have them.
  13. Yeah, its a soft platic bait made by reaction inovations. Great bait to flip!
  14. Go with the Depth Raider or the Moor and you wont be disappointed! I dont know too may guys around that will reccomend the Fish Hawk anymore.
  15. No Promises - are you really serious? I have been running that thing for 2 years now.
  16. No, I did 50-60 there in the AM and 40-50 onthe way back.
  17. Fished a little tourney and figured my best bet for a win would be to run to Irondequoit since I had been pulling some solid fish from there lately. NOAA said 1' or less which is fine with me. Well, the trip there was 1-2's and the trip back was 1-3's with a 4 in the mix. Rough ride back, and the fish didnt cooperate with me in Irondequoit. The water level looked to have dropped about 6-8". Back in Sodus we didnt some fish off docks, but nothing out of the weeds. We weighed in eleven and a half pounds which was in the middle of the pack. A lot of 10-13lb bags and not many big bags like usual.
  18. Fished from 6-10:30 with limited success. Had some nice blow ups on buzzbaits in the morning, but no hookups. Then I hit a 3lb and a 2.5lb LM on a senko. Later towards the end I hit a 2lb LM on a sweet beaver. Still very slow, but if you put your time in there could be some nice fish taken.
  19. nope it was nasty coming back! 1-3's with a 4 thrown in. my back is paying for it today.
  20. Did you see me run by you sinday morning? I was headed to Irondequoit from Sodus?
  21. I'LL TAKE A CORE OR COPPER FISH ANYTIME, ANY DAY!
  22. Hey, any of you guys fishing off Irodequoit tomarrow morning. I might be headed there from Sodus in the blue bomber! I have a little tourney out of Sodus tomarrow and if the weather is permitting I am going to run to either Irondequoit or Braddocks. Should be fun! 34 mile run at 65MPH FUN!
  23. You can never look at it as wasting gas! You should learn something from every trip out whether u kill em or go blank.
  24. Mark, we would all appreciate you wearing your shirt in pictures from now on! I heard they have been somking them out front, but Im moving the boat to FH for a month. C-ya all in Sept for some combat trolling.
