  1. Wow sweet fish!! Congrats on hitting the Otisco CYCLE!
  2. Welcome to LOU Don - glad to have you aboard Lots of great guys here!
  3. Tannero - Download the LOU app - it is much easier to post pictures using that then the mobile version of the website. If you don't want to use the app then click on "More Reply Options" to bring up option to attach pictures. This option is not available using the mobile website however so make sure you are viewing site in "full version mode". The link to switch to full version mode from mobile version is located at the bottom of each page. Let me know how else I can help if needed. Thanks!! Chad
  4. Larry I was thinking prizes (not cash) for youth division. I remember growing up as a kid fishing in lots of youth tournaments and they always simply did fun prizes like rods, lures, accessories and free memberships (like a free Muskies Inc chapter 69 youth membership for 1-year and a couple lures, maybe fun trophy as well). No need to sacrifice most fish prize to fund youth prize. Do both no problem.
  5. Larry - nice job running the tournament this year. I thought we had a good turn out despite the tough weather and fishing conditions. Nice to raise so much money for the bait fish fund. Our team lost one and had a couple more follows, ended the day with no fish but had a great time. Most my other buddies in the tourney ended with one or none as well. Congrats to the guys who were able to turn a fish or two! Looking forward to the fall tournament. Any thoughts of having a youth/kids (16 and under) division in future events?
  6. Welcome to the site Laurie - glad to have you! Lots of great guys and gals here! Enjoy.
  7. Beauty Ryan / Robb!! Nice going!
  8. Great report on opening day guys! Sounds like there were some fish to be had out there. I missed opening weekend this year due to weddings and other family obligations (also missed last night's NY Musky Inc. meeting as well for similar reasons.... grrrrr.....). Anyways, I hope to get out soon enough for first NY trip. Anyone know what the water temps were out there down on Chautauqua (north & south) and other areas? Thanks, Chad
  9. Awesome fish Zach man
  10. Sakorifle glad to have you aboard! Lots of great guys here - enjoy the site and thanks again for the kind words
  11. Welcome aboard riverkeeper! Glad to have ya
  12. Funny you mentioned snapping turtle.... just saw this other post on LOU: http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/index.php/topic/36705-snapping-turtle-almost-got-me-while-i-was-bass-fishing/ Pretty funny! The scare looks like it was starting to heal over.
  13. Good question BSMaster. I'm not sure actually. My guess is that either Zach or Larry are correct in it being either post spawn or red spot.
  14. Had a good time fishing this past week with family and friends. Was able to boat a couple nice fish but starting to get ready for musky season to open now. Just a quick reminder that if you don't already have a pair of hook cutters, think about picking some up before the season opens. This guy below swam away to thrill another angler someday because of it...... if not for those cutters and a jaw spreader this fish would have surely died. I know this practice is widely encouraged by all avid musky anglers and groups like our friends at NY Musky Inc. Chapt 69 and Niagara Musky Association (NMA). Correct me I'm wrong but I think the NMA might even offer a discount for a quality pair of NIPEX cutters. Hope you all have a great memorial day and a special thank you goes out to all those who have served and are currently serving in our armed forces. I know we have a lot of LOU members proudly carrying that recognition.
  15. Thank you for posting Matt - we have a TON of vets and service men/women here on LOU. A special thank you to all of them.
  16. Hi Nick - Jerry and I thought you would be the BIGGEST beneficiary of the new LOU app giving your past live reports that we love watching so much! If you go under the settings page within the app you will see options for PUSH notifications. If you turn that ON, then you will get instant notifications through the app just like you do for emails. I use it to follow specific forum, topics that I participate in and also private messages. As the app continues to "evolve" we will work on bugs and provide push notifications for updates. I'm glad to hear you guys are enjoying it - we have received great feedback so far and couldn't be happier! Cheers Chad
  17. Nice job Old man!! Great idea there
  18. Hi Lagerhead - there is a way to view the tweets. You have to click on the following FORUM (at the bottom nav) > LAKE ONTARIO FISHING > FISHING REPORTS (Instant Lake Wide). This is a link that will take you to the LOU Tweets page. It will open a new webpage to view it outside the app. MikeyP - thank you for sharing that info. I wasn't aware that there was a minimum iPhone requirement. I know that many carriers are currently offering an iPhone upgrade deal. See links below for details for ATT and Verizon: ATT http://www.att.com/att/trade/?WT.srch=1&wtPaidSearchTerm=upgrade+phone VERIZON In the left column, UNCHECK "APPLE" under BRAND/PLATFORM and CHECK "APPLE iOS" instead to view all the iphone devices. If you just leave APPLE checked it will only show iPhone 5 and not the cheaper 4s or 4. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneOverviewByDevice&capId=156&osName=Apple&&deviceCategoryId=1
  19. Haha. I've dropped my iPhone into the water before. The app is waterproof... but the phone wasn't
  20. Awesome guys - thanks!! Should make posting pictures from the water easy as well. Have a great weekend everyone and I hope you get out fishing! Test out the new app while you are out there. Cheers Chad
