  1. Coffee with cream is a lot of water & probably prop seal. Green with streaks of white may be condensation or the fill screw & gasket wasn't seated properly. At least that's what I ran into with my little merc & bigger envinrude. Tom B. (LongLine)
  2. Hit the refresh arrow. Love them. Pooch just jumped a mile. Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. Hidden word: Lake Ontario fish hatchery village. (sorry...) Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. Skinny S's into the current; fatter S's with the current. Tom B. (LongLine)

  6. Unfortunately there have been instances of this for the last 5 years or more.

  10. Yep, you're right on both counts. (oops) Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. Brian - It was supposed to go to every two years. (in the old numbered years)
  12. The DEC stocks browns every spring at Brighton, Perrinton, Penfield & Pittsford. Usually in the 8-15" range. Plus they put a bunch of walleyes in the bay. Their journey to the lake might be just as perilous upstream as it is at the mouth of the river, or more so. Definitely deserves some thought though. Tom B. (LongLine)
  13. Mine is always out. Gas & oil fumes heavier than air. If there's any fumes under the heavy tarps, I want to know it before I unwrap it. Mice & whatever will eat thru the tarp/canvas if they really want in. (a few mothballs in a tuna can in the bilge or on the cavitation plate will keep vermin out) Tom B. (LongLine)

  15. Couple years ago I caught a King with a NK in his mouth. (legally) Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. Even the best lines get weak after they have been used a few times. Tom B. (LongLine)
  17. I have one also. Only issue is that it's a battery eater. Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. Vinegar is 95% water and 5% acetic acid. Acetic acid, although considered a weak acid, will eat iron & steel. It will also do a pretty good job on copper. It will not bother good quality stainless steels. As for gaskets, it will eventually do a number on nitriles & SBR rubbers. EPDM & PTFE gaskets stand up the best. I would strongly advise against using any acid and if you do, make sure you get it all out. Tom B. (LongLine)

  20. Probably because your computer is set to erase cookies when you sign off. If not, then try double or triple clicking on you user name. Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. hmmm....."5 million angler hours on one river." Yet less than 1 million angler hours on the open lake for all of 2014. I'm wondering how much that 5 million would drop without the salmon in Sept, Oct, and early Nov. Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. Welcome to the site. Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. Work is a disorder for people that want to go fishing. (period at the end of the sentence) Tom B. (LongLine)
  24. The target for Chinooks is in the 1.6-1.7 range. Copied from the 2014 annual report (which was horribly late this year) this is what they stocked: The 200k "extra" Chinooks were put in the Niagara River. The increase in LT's is to see which group survives better. Tom B. (LongLine)
  25. Do you mean it does not sound quite like proper English? Tom B. (LongLine)
