  1. Next time take a look at mouth. White = steelie; grey = coho; black = king. Tom B. (LongLine)
  2. Try "lurepartsonline" and "luremaking" Both dot coms. Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. Cables have to come thru shallow water someplace to get to shore. Anyone that's ever been to Port Bay has probably experienced how large stones get thrown around by the near shore currents. i.e. fill in the channel. Guys from Sandy can attest as to how a sandbar that's here today may be gone tomorrow. Nothing like a little "sand/stone" blasting the cable. Given how poorly overhead lines are maintained, I doubt lines in the water would be maintained any better. Also, Co-Ax cable, the size they need would cost more than the "dang" turbines. Remember we're not talking a 12v antenna cable here. Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. ...only because only two studies have been done on and the pro-windbags have done everything they can to discredit them. Hope no one snags their rigg'r weight on it. I wonder why they always post no anchor, no swim signs around underwater cables? Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. I remember them too John. Horrible. Tom B. (LongLine)
  6. Do a "Google" on Klein steel direct. Retail store for their surplus. Sryr, Roch, Buff. They all carry aluminum in small pieces. (and just about any size) Tom B. (LongLine)
  7. I'd advise aluminum. If you can work with wood, you can work with aluminum. Tom B. (LongLIne)
  8. Better to have it up front - going forward. It'll be out of the way, out of the weather. Tom B. (LongLine)

    Hi!

Welcome to the site. Tom B. (LongLine)
  10. I run cannon uni's with extendable boom with probe & a 14 Lb home made torpedo (missile). Haven't had any problems but I don't extend them, bottom bounce or horse around with it. Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. Pline on the riggers holds up well. I run cxx - clear. (not available around here) . Although I agree with Miss D on their fluoro. Tom B. (LongLine)
  12. I definitely suspect the cable or one of it's end has a bad connector. Sounds like when you lift it up, you're giggling a connector. Tom B. (LongLine)
  13. Do you have a good tight clean connection between the antenna cable & the extension cable? When it goes off, do you loose temp also or just speed? The little dot in the temp display tells you that you have power. Tom B. (LongLine)
  14. Welcome to the site. Yrs ago, I lived off Whittier Rd. Tom B. (LongLine)
  15. Welcome to the site. Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. Welcome to the site & welcome back. Tom B. (LongLine)
  17. Checked for more stuff than our local CG normally does. Also took my brothers license & registration into their cabin for a good 5-7 minutes. Know dang well they were running him thru their scanner/background/criminal record stuff. Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. If your motoring thru Canuck water, their peoples can stop & inspect you. Been there, done that & had that done to us this last summer up in Chippewa area Tom B. (LongLine)
  19. I also agree with YT. Some will side step the issue with "what about..." The issue is whether trout eggs should be legal, period. I agree, ban them. Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. Start out with NK28 size spoons. Northern King, Dreamweavers, Stingers are in just about everyone's arsenal. Greens, Silvers, Oranges and Glows. Adjust your boat speed so you get a good "wobble." Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. You can use wing-nuts just as long as you use something a lot more than your fingers to tighten them. Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. Don't forget to register your trailer. Can be done online at NYS DMV site or go to local office. If at local office, your town gets to keep a buck or two on it. Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. Go to a craft store (like micheals) and get a bottle of "Un-do". It's for removing stickers. Works great and won't mess up plated or painted lure surfaces. Tom B. (LongLine)
