  1. Try posting on GLA, you'll cover alot more real estate. There's gotta be one out there.
  2. Have a safe trip Bob. I think you originally said you were picking it up Friday, glad to see you're going tomorrow. With this being Memorial Day weekend, traffic will be a b***h. Now start getting that money out of the mattresses and cookie jars!
  3. 6 foot mast, reels and boards, $125.00 pickup in Binghamton area. I've got pictures if you have an email addy.
  4. Try this Bob http://www.walleye.com/boatads.htm
  5. Hey Bob, I'd bet that 19 foot Islander is twice the boat your 16 footer is, you ought to try and find someone close by to get an idea of it's size. Those 4 banger Mercruiser motors didn't get the nickname "Iron Duke" for nothing either. I have an 04 Starcraft catalog, and the 19 and 22 have the same specs for beam, inside depth, transom width, chine width, deadrise, and hull gauge aluminum. That's a helluva good price for that boat on GLA if it's in good condition.
  6. Good deed Muskybob! I always offer a hand if possible, and hope that when my time of needs comes, someone will be there for me. I hope the fish Gods smile on you next trip out.
  7. Firediver, "a very cold swim?" With the water temps, you must have had some serious "shinkage problems" the boys must have been up about center chest. You got alot bigger set than me, I'd have never gone in that water. Hey, it's a continuous learning experience, keep at it, and better luck next time!
  8. The wife and I got up to F/H and set up camp at the St Pk in the morning, then decided to wait till afternoon to hit the water. It was a beautiful afternoon, but the fish weren't cooperating. Just one small steelhead, but at least I didn't go home with the skunk in the boat. Sunday morning we bagged it due to the wind. The wife has MS and I knew it would be too tough for her bouncing around out there. Alot of mixed reports, some of no fish, and others with a half dozen or so. Certainly not like last weekend. The old case of "shoulda been here yesterday". All in all a good trip, boat ran fine, and my first tow of the Wellcraft with the new Hemi Dodge, 14.2 MPG pulling about 3000 lbs. In March I towed my 15 foot Jon to GA and got 18.2 MPG. Happy with those figures. About a $75 bill round trip to F/H at $3.00 a gallon.
  9. Thanks for the info guys, heading out now and hope to talk to you on the water.
  10. I'm planning to head up to Fair Haven tomorrow and camp at the State Park for a couple days. Is there an evening bite at all? Seems like if you aren't out there first thing before the heavy boat traffic, you miss the bite. I kinda doubt I'll be up early enough tomorrow morning with the 2:45 minute drive and then getting a campsite besides. I'll have Sun and Monday mornings to catch up though. What channel do most folks out of Fair Haven use, and how about a couple hot stick baits? Thanks, Ron
  11. I made those same boards, but did a couple changes so they fold flat. If you are interested, PM me your email and I can send a couple pictures.
  12. A move is making it necessary to downsize my boat. I have a 2001 Wellcraft Sportsman 180 Tournament Edition walkthru windshield boat. 2002 Yamaha F115, 2001 Magic Tilt aluminum trailer with brakes, new radials, and a spare. Bimini top, trailering cover, Garmin 250C finder, Garmin 128 GPS, mast and big boards, and a D/R mounting board. I'm keeping the D/R's. I have it for sale at $12,500. NADAguides value is $13,300 to $15,100. The boat is in excellent condition. Thanks, Ron
  13. Ray, Thanks for the offer. Tomorrows not good, but if a get a free weekday I may give you a call.
  14. I've only been on Seneca once, towards the north end, fishing for Perch around Glass Factory Bay I believe. So iffen I was coming from the Vestal area, where's a good launch close to the fishing? Actually if the perch fishing was hot also, I'd give that a try. I always have to bring the ball and chain with me, and she would enjoy the heck out of some perch fishing.
  15. Just curious how, and who, regulates the water level on Cayuga. Obviously they lower the level in winter, is that to accomodate the spring run off? How about now with the water level so high, can't they let it out fast enough, or once they close the gates in the spring, they stay closed?
  16. With the advise given, I figured Cayuga was a no go. Bent a propshaft a few years back with spring debris, $500 on a 25HP motor! I headed towards Fair Haven at 4:30 AM yesterday and only got about 15 miles and had a flat tire on the trailer. New Goodyear radials last year, but something punctured one. I always have a spare, so it was no problem getting back on the road, but I didn't want to do a 5 hour round trip without another spare. So back home I went to lick my wounds and get the tire fixed. Oh well, better than last Monday, by evening we had 15"s of snow, and lost our electric power for 44 hours!
  17. I've been watching the board and reading up on the tourney you guys have going on later this summer. I haven't commited as I've got my house up for sale and have bought another in S.E. PA. That's where our only son lives and his mother and I would like to be closer to him. Anyhow, I got the boat out from under wraps this weekend, had her running and checked out all the gear. Tomorrow I'm going fishing somewhere. I'd like to hit Cayuga as it's alot closer, but seems like fellows are doing pretty decent between Fairhaven and Mexico on Ontario. Is there anything doing on Cayuga, or should I just pack another pound of twenties for gas and head to Ontario? Thanks!
  18. The wife's hair dryer, and a plastic spatula from her kitchen. The warmer the day, the better to soften the sticker.
  19. Before you buy, check out Big Jons website, they had factory seconds on sale at a good price awhile back.
  20. Don't feel bad, I've been waiting over 4 years for an email response from Lowrance about a warranty issue with an X-85. Did I mention I haven't had a Lowrance product since then? Some people love them, and some people hate them. Count me in with the latter!
  21. I've got a mast and boards, but I'm down below Binghamton,NY. I'm not really interested in trying to ship it, been there, done that. If you were heading down this way and are interested, I could send some pics.
  22. Jeff, Each side panel is 20.5"s wide and the center section is 17"s wide, the height is 22"s.
  23. Is it just the hose clamp type thing you need? I thought you needed the actual bracket that connecting link attaches to. I've seen the hose clamp type things attaching signs to posts, check a sign shop or maybe a Fastenal store. If it's the bracket, You might even be able to get a welding shop to repair yours by brazing.
