  1. I wouldn't necessarily rewinterize, but it might not be a bad idea to open the block and riser petcocks and drain the water out of the engine. I don't think it'll get cold enough for long enough for a hard freeze.
  2. No, the zebra and quagga mussels have pretty much decimated the diporeia populations, which is a small zooplankton that is pretty much the vital base of the food chain in the lake. Just because the lake is clearer, doesn't mean it's healthier. Tim
  3. Bruce, because that is an adult coho. Remember that Coho have a different life cycle than our kings do. They don't smolt out until 1 1/2 years old. That fish is currently 2 1/2 years old and will mature and run its river to spawn this fall. Tim Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I agree with Ben, surface speed is of zero value to me 99% of the time. Tim
  5. I started with Cannon Unitroll HP manuals and cranking up 12's was a biotch, I wouldn't want to know nuthin' about cranking in 16 lbers on manual riggers.
  6. The calendar and feeding sign up for the Olcott Pen project is up on the LOTSA Westsite http://www.lotsa.org Tim
  7. I will have a feeding calendar and signup form up on the LOTSA Website in the next day or so. I will post when it is live Thanks, Tim
  8. Our fish will be delivered to the Town of Newfane Marina on Friday, April 24 at 1:00 pm. Our 67,000 Chinook Salmon and 3,500 Steelhead will be transferred to the pens. The hatchery truck will also be releasing the balance of Olcott's Direct Stocked Steelhead that same day. Anyone that can come out Friday and help out, it will be greatly appreciated. Also, that means that the feedings start at 4:00 pm on the 24th and will continue along the regular schedule from that point on till they are released: 7:00 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm every day. Attached is the fish delivery notice from the DEC: http://www.lotsa.org/2015-%2018%20Mile%20Chin%20+%20Sthd%20pens%20etc%20%20otus%20Approach_CARD.pdf Thanks, Tim

  12. You can NEVER have too many rod holders on a boat... EVER!!!
  13. Wow Paul, that's quite an upgrade over the old dinosaur you were using. what are you going to do with yourself now that you'll actually be able to see fish on your graph :-P
  14. ^^^^^^^^ Yeah, what he said^^^^^^^^
  15. Actually, it would be a miracle if you did, since the lake won't have set up by early June, so there won't be a thermocline to find. But seriously, that time of year, just fish the marks.
  16. Probably should have been in tighter, the browns are usually in <10' this time of year.
  17. That's not actually even remotely close to being true, but whatever.
  18. The number is just a number. The value to a speed and temp unit is repeatability. What the number displayed is, is in all honesty, completely irrelevent, as long as you can repeat the reading that is catching fish. Once you determine that, it really doesn't matter what the number is. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. We just need some NE winds to push that ice into the warm western basin where it will quickly sink, melt and be gone for good. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Sorry BAITNH, i was answering the initial question. That isn't Billy Baroo. Tim Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Over the years, it's been this: 3 1/2" Smithwick in the old log perch pattern. Sadly they no longer make it in that smaller size only the 4 1/2" and gave it a different name. I think it is just about the most perfect goby imitation out there. I'm down to only 2 or 3 left in my box
