  1. Great photoslideshow! Thanks for sharing.
  2. Good im glad someone figured out the double post issue. I thought I didnt submit my post and was looking for it in the other...like Rob said, it confuses some of us. Some of us arent the brightest knife in the drawer if you know what im sayin,, Good luck let us know if you get out!
  3. Beauty of a job Paul, Very nice colors and finish on that SMB!!
  4. If you have rod holders I would just run inline planer boards such as Yellowbirds, or Church Boards. here are some examples http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/common/search/search-results1.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&hasJS=true&_D%3AhasJS=+&sort=all&QueryText=inline+planer+boards&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23 They are used on the line your lure is on, to bring the lure away and back from your boat. Just make sure you have a medium action rod to take the tension from the planer board. Run your stickbait back 60-100 ft depending on depth of water you are fishing and then attach the inline planer board then let the board out away from the boat. When a fish hits or the lure snags bottem the planer board will let you know if there is anything going on with the lure. Small stickbaits such as rapalas, smithwicks, thundersticks all work well. Anything that dives 3-5 feet. Firetiger, black and silvers, orange white belly, blue on some days work well. I had some luck with spoons off my inline boards with a couple splitshot on them 5 ft ahead of the lure. This kind of fishing is right around the corner and I cant wait! Good luck
  5. http://www.cityofrochester.gov/des/docs/watershedbroch.pdf I think its still the same, They can not exceed 16 ft in length.
  6. My father and I are looking for a small 1990+ 14-16ft Deep V aluminum boat to fish hemlock-canadice and mid winter trips etc. Not a tiller, Im looking for something with a side console that we could put a top on eventually. Also a floor would be nice but not essential. I found a few possibilities on craigslist but it seems I ran out of options for looking and decided to post up here about it. Let me know what you guys got, if you know anybody that has anything for sale Thanks
  7. Was that a 3rd graders book report? Here we go for 2009 is right
  8. Definatly love my Simrad AP. If you have any questions drop me a PM, of if you want to see it in action this coming season.
  9. As long as you take care of your wire rods you shouldnt have a problem with any of them. Keep tension on the wire at all times(I never brake down my 2 pc wire rods), make solid connections, have drags set right etc. I have had better luck with AFW and the mailin vs the mason. The mason seemed to coil up and kink but could have been a bad batch I had... just my 2 cents
  10. You werent saposed to tell him brian, remember when I said "dont tell ricky I asked you" Im ready for springtime. Lets go here mother nature move it along
  11. Nice job stan, those lakes surrounded by moutains are beautiful!
  12. They come in handy whent the fish are up high like everyone has said prime example is when the lake flips. They are far enough back from the boat to not spook them usually 100 ft or so to achieve their depths. I run the jet 10s-20s-30s. I have never messed around with the 50 for that I would just run wire divers. They have helped in taking some big kings when the fish are up high for sure.
  13. Nice work guys!! Did you guys fish in the DSR? Was their alot of people? I cant wait for springtime!!
  14. Theses look slick Tom, I cant wait for the LOTSA EXPO!!! Spring is gettin closer by the tick of the clock boys!!
  15. I think most peoples replies on here will be the same, as long a leaas you can! By this I mean if you are fishing 8 ft diver rods dont run 8 foot leads because you wont be able to net the fish when it comes to the boat! :lol The longer the rod the longer the lead length, Typically on outside diver rods, 10 fters, I will run about an 8 ft lead between my diver and SD/attractor. On my inside diver rods, 9fters, I will run it a little shorter just to make netting a littler easier, around 7ft. It will make it that much easier when the fish comes boatside and you still got the leverage you need to get your fish in the net!!
  16. I agree with ray k, Makes sense to get the longer booms to the side, It will give you a bigger spread. Just make sure your wire rods can get around the cables when they are in position. What kind are they? Just make sure you mount them in a postion where you can pivot them around for travel/storage/swinging the ball in to rig up etc. What do they say again Ray, drill twice before you measure? jk Heres one side of my rig, the one of the stern is angled out a notch along with an awesome sunset out of Sandy Creek.
  17. Im surprised how long it took for this one to get out. I knew it would make it to LOU eventually... On the way downstream at the end of the island there is a dead heron up in the tree thats feet must have been wrapped in fishing line and it got trapped, died and is hanging down, pretty creepy. Didnt want this duck to end up the same way. No lust in my eyes Ray I think your looking at the duck a little to hard
  18. I think this is a good idea! We should definatly consider this, would be coold to check out everyones set ups. Help each other with layouts and set up a boat...installing equipment etc.
  19. Chinook When I ordered my AP, I ordered it off a website not through a simrad dealer, and kinda got the end of a bum deal. Nothing to do with simrad, just the website I ordered what they told me was brand new unit, ended up being a re manufactured one. Long story short I sent it back to simrad and they tested it 100% and made sure everything was kosher and sent it back to me free of charge. A+ customer service Navico-Simrad out of Seattle, Washington 1-800-426-5565
  20. I have the Simrad AP14R myself on my 21 ft Lund and love it. It was fairly easy to install with the help of a friend, and the calibration of it went smooth. The AP handles fairly big water with ease, but common sense will tell you when to and when not to use it. This will be my second season with it and I have no complaints. If you have any questions ask away, or want to see it in action let me know come March(hopefully)-April
  21. Nice fish! I couldnt find out when it was caught? October? What a pig!
  22. Nice work brian! Did you see anything cool on the underwater camera this time?
  23. I use and old 35 mm camera with the flash on it, no film just keep fresh batteries on board to charge away. It can be deadly when they want glow. Fall staging kings in the mud early morning, down deep kings middle of the day...I use my on board lights to get them "charging" while im riggin rods and gettin ready to leave the dock then before I deploy them I give em a flash up close with the camera.
