  1. Time Out

    Skeg repair

You want to heat it with a burns-o-matic so when you lick your finger and touch it it just makes that stttt sound. It will be hot enough you shouldn't break but cool enough for the seals. Don't hit it to hard and take your time. You can also wet around the seals before you start Have done before and worked fine. Could be easier ways, but this is the way I was told to do it.
  2. Thanks, Tried this morning and got skunked. Hit a few at Braddocks, but pretty slow.
  3. Has anyone been out lately? Thinking of fishing it thurs. and have never fished there. Whats the contour like? Where can you park? Any info would be great. Thanks Jeff
  4. Try French Creek Marina in Clayton ny. They have all kinds of stuff for older motors. (315) 686-3621 Have delt with them in the past and they are great people.
  5. Im with Yankee on the crocks when its not too cold. I take a lot of static from the guys on my boat, but they are so comfortable and I dont care if they get wet. Mine are not the baby blue ones like someone wears. My LaCrosse rubbers are the choice when its cold. Mine are green because I lost my camo pair in the woods Jeff

    ice?

You guys know if the Bayside is having thier tournament this year on Irondequoit?
  7. I would either stay in Wilson or on the Niagra. Both will give you fishing opportunities if the lake is too rough. The Salmon/coho bite is great that time of the year, border to olcott. Spoons, Flasher/ Flies, sticks. Should be a great time. Follow the pack till you find your way to fish. Should be a lot of guys there for pre pro-am fishing
  8. They have an eyelet on them and thats all I use. You can use a pully and spring, but you don't need one. Have not broken the planner line, but is more likely without the spring and pully. The rod is a support for the canopy.
  9. Ive been running them for a few years and have had no problems with them. Have them mounted to a canvas support rod.
  10. Rick, The sealine 47s are great reels. Backer under the wire will help the drag a lot. Without backer 1000' of wire only fills the reel a little over half, so your drags will have more strain on them. Your counters will also be more accurate with a full spool.
  11. Yankee, Where's your camp. Thought you drove by us in Camren when we were hunting Saturday.
  12. Try Bark at the moon coyote club. They have tips and a forum for predator hunting. They are based in Fairport. They also have a tournament in January. Its a good time, but remember, its not like on tv. A good predator hunter they say will have about a 1-20 sucess to setup ratio in the east. Ive been doing it a couple of years and havent even seen a coyote while hunting for them, only fox. Dogs is the way to go. Jeff
  13. Id say when they swing the bridge on nov 1, but thats a guess.
  14. Fished the bay today and ended up with about 50(3 guys) 9"-13" perch. Only had about 20 throw backs. Wasnt very fast, but steady. Tried fishing some of my favorite areas, but around the buoys was the place to be. There were about 15 boats there. Fished with minnows and jigs. If you want to fish give the bays a shot. 5'-20' along drop offs or weed beds and you'll get them. Taste so much better than the salmon and a lot cheaper to catch, but I wont be fishin for them come April. Jeff
  15. Yeah, buy Scotties. Jusk kiddin, welcome to lou.
  16. Bill, Try Steves custom canvas. Has done seats for me in the past. Its about a 40 min ride from Fairhaven in Webster. He can match just about anything Jeff
  17. I think the tournament did a great job this year keeping the rules uniform(unless I forgot something). The meeting times would be very nice to know ahead of time and where, adresses are always nice for anyone new.
  18. Way to go Mark. Now all I need to do is get a fish on the board.
  19. Good question. Remember, just someting they were thinking about, not a new rule. Lets hear some new ideas.
  20. I guess they think it would allow for more teams to enter because of the difficulties involved with finding a spotter? This is what I heard, anything new is unknown to me.
  21. Del, Some of the proposed rules for next year are for the am to go to the old rules.9 fish no culling. The catch is that there would be no spotter except for the top five teams on the second day provided by the tournament. This is what I think has been submitted to them. This was the last I heard. Any other ideas that anyone has would be appreciated. Jeff Cold Water Affair
  22. Streeters in Ontario does a very good job on fish. Located on rt 104. Not the cheapest, but worth it. Jeff
  23. Stix, fished between Bear and Pultneyville and had a good # strikes(12) but landed about 1/3. Fished 150-300 and back in. Took fish on flasher flies. Hammer was good with about 7 hits. Took 2 on spoons. Jeff
