  1. 150-200 ft is more than enough. I just split the spool in half. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Here try this https://www.fishusa.com/PowerPro-Spectra-Downrigger-Cable-Replacement
  3. Really any 200-250# braid will do. Ive used power pro and along with others and see no major difference for the application. There is only a few makers in the world for it so it really doesnt matter.
  4. Traditional.... like dacron? Im currently using 200# braid. Comparing braid to dacron isnt even fair. 1- braid doesn't absorb water 2- zero stretch 3- smaller diameter 4- releases slide better 5- lasts longer 6- durability dacron tends to get water soak and sag in the water. Once your towline starts sagging in the water then your boards tend to lag. Never an issue with braid.
  5. Weight doesnt matter its all about performance. Most boards do the job but attention needs to be paid on proper setup. Tough to beat the performance of the Big Jons using braid as towline.
  6. depends... wooden boards are all different sizes. Curious, why does weight matter?
  7. Big Jon Otter Boats all the way. They are literally in the water every day I am out.

  11. Like I said capacity is a relative term. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Salmon River... Only at "capacity" due to water issues not because of space. Capacity is a relative term.
  13. Everything matters. Do you want to catch 2 fish or 10? If you had to bet on who will have success deer hunting would it be someone that is 100 percent concerned about scent control, exit strategies, wind, and attention to detail or Uncle Frank hunting in his street clothes and smoking in the tree stand. My money is on the first guy! My point is everything catches fish but the guys who go above and beyond are more successful. Tournament fishing will really show you the importance of the little things. If you sit on the back of tournament boats you will see some crazy stuff. Is it all necessary? No but it does put more fish in the boat and a lot of the time also the right fish. Remember big fish didnt get that way by getting caught.
  14. Im a in search of Penn Yan louvered hull vents. These were custom made for Penn Yan models and seem to be very hard to find something aftermarket to replace them. I can have them made to order directly from Penn Yan but I am trying to avoid that. (At $79 per middle section and $29 per end section, the price is a bit steep). The front vent is 6"x44" and the rear is 6"x26". If anyone has any ideas on aftermarket availability or has some originals let me know. Thanks!
  15. Run true out of the package but they are still tunable if you choose to tune them.
