  1. Congrats on the strong finish Richard Is that the official new boat name?
  2. Rich, Thanks for the info on the savants. They look great, I like those frog and glow patterns. Seems like they do real well for you. Does any place down east carry them, or are they from online sales only? Richard, Not sure if I'll be at the challenge, should know pretty soon. I'm still waiting on my boat to be done, hopefully I'll have it back soon. I think I'm going thru withdrawls bad, I even rigged up the river boat to troll with  Catch ya guys later
  3. Once again, great pics Rich. How speed tolerant are those Savant spoons? Hey, is that a can of WD40 in the motorbox cup holder????
  4. Fished between Wilson & Olcott in 90 - 180 FOW and went 6 for 6 with 5 Kings and 1 Steelie. Spin docs with Atommiks, spoons and lymans all took fish. No real pattern as all different colors worked. Not sure what the temps or downspeeds were as I decided to fish my small river boat with limited equipment. King at 16lbs Small guy Rookie on the full core
  5. I had a 22' Fiberglass Imperial with the 205HP 4.3 Merc V6 in it. I thought that was a very nice combo, good power, good on gas, so I wouldn't think that this Sea Sprite would be all that underpowered seing that this V6 has a 4 barrel carb on it to build more power.
  6. Sweet fish Tim, how did that brown fight? I see that Mountain Dew is still kicken
  7. Not much I can add since my boat is broke, but I was out on a friend's boat this weekend near the red can and marked a TON of bait. Took a few small kings on Magenta R&Rs off the riggers, but not much action. Not sure of down temp or currents, but there was a ton of bait.
  8. Looks like a 215 Tempest from the way the hard top compares with the rest of the boat and the angle that the pic is from. But I could be wrong
  9. Nice rig, love the colors Keep that PY fishin, thats what she is made to do Nice rigs, both of them!!
  10. Fished NE of the red can in 200 - 250 FOW and took kings on any green colored flasher/fly rig fished 70 - 90 down. Saw RICHARD out there and he and his crew did good running a similar program in the same water. 19 pounder Richard runnin Anyways, today I blew my coupler in my 260HP mercrusier I/O and was wondering if there were any words of wisdom for fixing it. Planning on pulling the motor tomorrow to survey the situation and figure out what parts to buy. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
  11. Looking at your name and the first pic, it seems like you have a 245 Contender, am I right? Love those Penn Yans
  12. Hey Richard, Fished this morning in 180 - 220 FOW NE of the Red Can. Spoons worked for Coho, color didn't matter, I even caught a Coho on a MIAMI DOLPHIN!!!! Kings came off Flashers / Flys with Green, Chrome, Mtn Dew flashers with any color variation green fly working. Had a MAJOR on the wire diver, ran out over 660' feet of wire before coming unglued, never even slowed down and came clear out of the water 2 times. I marked a bunch of fish in that NE area that you fished last year. Water was 47 - 48 degrees at 55' down. See ya later this week
  13. I'll be fishing the Niagara Pro AM as a part of Team Fishstyx Can't wait
  14. There are a TON of Cohos and shakers NE of the Red Can in 200 - 250 FOW. Lost count of how many we caught this weekend. ANY spoon color would take fish, even the Miami Dolphin
  15. Fished the Niagara Bar this morning near the green can and east down to fourmile. Took a small rainbow and several lakers on silver/green northern king spoons in 20 - 30 feet of water. The water from the river down east was really cold at 37 degrees. Not much action, but a nice day for the first trip of the year.
  16. Sweet ride Bill! What year is it? Gotta love those Penn Yans
  17. Hey Richard, Good job on those browns in nasty weather. The Niagara Bar isn't too far off now
  18. The upper Niagara River had a bunch of ice chunks / bergs in it this morning. Hopefully we'll get some warm rains to speed up the melting process.
  19. I've been pretty good so far: 2 new Daiwa 47 Accudepth Plus reels 2 9'6" Daiwa Heartland Rods for wire 9lb Ridgeback Rattler Bunch of R&R spoons Bunch of other misc term tackle
  20. Doug, This morning, the river water looked very good color wise. BUT, it is very windy right now, and the wind can really make a mess of the river in a hurry. As far as the steelies in the river, they should still be there based on the water temps that we currently have. Should know more as Sat gets closer.
  21. Thanks for the insight guys!! I think I am gonna go with Mike's advice and run a scotty release attached directly to the rigger cable above the rigger weight so as to avoid messing up the diving plane of the ridgeback.
  22. Ok guys, for those of you who run ridgeback rattlers, where / how do you attach your release? I just bought a 9lb RR to run in my spread, and am wondering what the best way is to attach my release. I currently use Offshore 8 heavy tension pinch pad releases that come on a 18" tether. I am thinking of attaching it directly to the same mounting hole that I would attach the rigger cable to.
