  1. 1) A new (to me) boat: Seaswirl Striper 2150 2) Garmin Chartplotter 3) More copper set-ups 4) autopilot (hopefully!) I think that's all the wallet will allow this year :? Brian(Goin Deep)
  2. I took Yankee Troller's advise last year and ran the McCoy 25lb test and loved it! I had zero break-offs and fleas were not an issue. Brian(Goin Deep)
  3. I didn't know they were having a show this weekend. I definately would like to go. Is it just on Saturday or Sunday also? Brian(Goin Deep)
  4. Troll your way down 309 to Hilltown and you could run a 6 rod spread. I got cabin fever BAD!!! Brian (Goin Deep)
  5. I've owned a Depth Raider for 2 years and love it! Zero problems and great battery life. From what I've read from this site and other sites, the Depth Raider seams to be a better product. and it costs much less. Also, you could call Fishhawk directly and find out if they are coming out with an improved model and if so, what's improved and what's the cost. Good luck! Brian(Goin Deep)
  6. Rod, This year are going to stay at Sutter Creek Campground in Fair Haven. It's right on Sterling Creek. We picked that campground because it's only 3 miles from the lake and if the lake is too rough, we can fish the creek for bass. www.suttercreekcampground.com Brian(Goin Deep)
  7. Try this site to see an ez steer on an i/o to kicker. www.ezsteer.com/images/OMCCO.jpg Brian(Goin Deep)
  8. Musky, I have basically the same boat as you (1995 221v Islander) and I've been thinking about a kicker also. I was thinking about shifting the swim platform over and moving the outer platform bracket to the other side. I think there might be enough room to use a Garelick kicker mounting bracket and an EZ steer. I'm not 100% sure that will give the room I need. What do you think? Brian(Goin Deep)
  9. Copper is to be run without a dipsey. Copper sinks approximately 20 feet for every 100 feet out. If you wanted to fish 60 feet down, you would let 300 feet of copper out. I run my copper down the chute with a 100 foot 20lb. mono leader. The stainless wire is for the dipseys. They are both good for not collecting many if any fleas. Good luck!!!! Brian(Goin Deep)
  10. Yeah, the shots can be long. My hunting partner also got a mulie (180") and he shot his at 53 yards. You got to have a range finder! We saw larger bucks but getting close enough to shoot them with a bow is tough. We saw some monster whitetails too. Brian(Goin Deep)
  11. I felt the rut was late this year. I hunt southeast Pa. and I saw bucks checking does all the way into the beginning of November. The does didn't seem to go into full estrus until the end of the 1st week and into the beginning of the 2nd week of November. I agree with your comment about it being a "trickle rut". Brian(Goin Deep)
  12. There are several videos made by Randy Anderson on how to hunt coyotes. His videos are great. One thing I learned about coyote hunting is that the colder the temp, the easier they are to call in. Good luck & kill some yotes! Brian(Goin Deep)
  13. Here's a picture of my mule deer I shot in Colorado last week. It gross scored just over 170 P&Y. I shot him at 55 yards. Brian(Goin Deep)
  14. I use 25 lb. McCoy mono as recommended on this site. I have had minimal fleas on my lines since I switched to the McCoy mono and have never had a break-off using it. Brian(Goin Deep)
  15. The wall is at the end of the trench. It is right off the lighthouse. Keep a close eye for the wall. It is a great place to fish but it can get shallow in a hurry. Brian(Goin Deep)
  16. Check the towing capacity of your truck. It should be in your owners manual. Compare it to the weight of the boat you are looking to buy. Don't forget to add the weight of all fishing equipment, gas etc. to the boat weight. You don't want to be overloaded......Cops frown on it! Good luck!! Brian(Goin Deep)
  17. I have a Depth Raider and I definately catch more fish since I installed it. The biggest advantage I think is knowing the speed at the ball. I was suprised to see how different the underwater current is compared to the surface current. The temperature is also and important tool when it comes to finding Kings. I monitor my Depth Raider more than my Fish Finder. Brian(Goin Deep)
  18. 1) Michigan Stinger NBK mag 2) Diehard 3) Habanero 4) Miami Dolphin 5) Watermellon 6) Moonshine Flounder pounder Good luck! Brian(goin deep)
  19. Another thing you can do is go to Anchor Resort and rent a boat. Their web site is www.anchor-resort.com . There is good bass fishing in little sodus bay. Good luck! Brian (goin deep)
  20. Screwey Louie's in Fair Haven opens early. It is about 15 minutes from Oswego. www.screwylouiessportshop.com Also, there is Larry's Salmon Shop (315) 342-2778 right on the Oswego river. He is supposed to open at 6:00am but I've waited for over an hour for him to open up. Brian (goin deep)
  21. 1) White pro chip w/ either an atommik little boy blue or powder blue fly. 2) I second the white spin Dr. w/ hammer fly. Brian (Goin Deep)
  22. Try this web site: www.dec.state.ny.us after getting on the web site, click on "services" Then click on "sporting licenses" after that, click on "purchasing a sporting license" You should be good to go from there. Good luck! Brian(Goin Deep)
  23. Thanks Yankee. I like the idea of not having to pick fleas off my line every 30 minutes. I'm going to give the line a try! Brian(Goin Deep)
  24. I remember reading that the McCoy fishing line didn't collect fleas. For this reason I was thinking of switching to McCoy. What are some thoughts and experiences about McCoy fishing line. Thanks in advance! Brian(Goin Deep)
  25. I do the same as Janz but I use Atommic torpedo weights for the two center riggers. I have my fin bent approx. 15 degrees on the pancake weights. Brian(Goin Deep)
