    I know the transducer does not read surface temp. I think the head and probe are ok but I have no way of testing the probe. I'll put a 9v in it and see if it flashes.

    It is said to be 3 times stronger than wood. You cut the top off the stringer and poor it full. saves labor but cost more than wood. Also it dies not rot or absorb water.
