  1. And a fine looking gentleman.
  2. I have one that's used but in perfect working condition. Where are you located? Shoot me a pm.
  3. Hey, I know that guy! He's one of my colleagues at URMC, a prof who works on musculoskeletal research. Hani and I used to play volleyball together for years, and he's always been receptive when we were trying to place inner city kids in labs for internships. Good guy. I'm glad to see they caught a bunch of fish. I'll have to get a first hand report from him tomorrow.
  4. Great fish, Matt!
  5. Took me longer than it should have to find them, too - and I was too proud (ie, old and stubborn) to walk into the basement and simply look at them. I wonder if having the word "bomb" in the name makes them register lower on Google's search engine? I was getting everything but.
  6. My X4D probe failed just after the warrantee expired. I tried all of the options to figure out what might be wrong, but it simply wasn't transmitting. No damage, no condensation, no corrosion. I figured that I was SOL, but FishHawk sent me a new probe immediately, without charge, no down-time. I am beyond impressed and wanted to give a shout out to them for standing behind their product.
  7. Michigan Stinger Dive Bomb is what you're looking for - 2, 4, and 8 oz should do the trick with short coppers. I put them 50' up, directly on the copper and have never had an issue fingers crossed. I think they may net me 10-30 feet extra, on average.

    Cayuga Confused ?

Many kayak tournaments use photographic evidence to enter your catch - inches, not pounds. Catch, photo, release format. Best five. It can even be updated in real time. I'm sure that the anglers aren't keeping bass to weigh them in.
  9. If that's the case, what a waste of taxpayer's money. Fun for the folks who get to do it, though
  10. Yeah, we're the ghetto between Rochester and the Oak. No kings at Sandy. But we raise tough fish.
  11. Hi Tom,

I'd suggest trying to contact some of these boat owners who may in the past have posted their boats here via pm rather than adding to old threads; you might also talk to Tommy at East Fork Marina in Hamlin, as he generally knows who is selling what, when. Good luck in your quest.

for sale : usa 280 Baha Fisherman

Tom, you're barking up a tree that fell years ago. Look up just a couple of posts in this thread.
  13. Things that make you go hmmm.... Inquiring after a boat that was posted for sale over 15 years ago? I think Bill got it right. A day late for April Fools.
  14. Because cash tastes so much better than Venmo lol.

    for sale : usa ALPENAS

I saw this and wondered why you were selling sheep. Alpacas. I haven't had enough coffee yet.
  16. Killer deal. That's our setup except we swapped Talora rods for TDRs a bunch of years ago. Somebody will jump on this.
  17. True. I fully appreciate the increased cost of doing business...NIH modular grants were capped at $250,000 a year in 1998, and haven't budged since then (if you can believe that load of crap)...try operating on a 1998 budget. Numbers are numbers are numbers. And after that initial building, Bruce never put anything back into the place, so I figured he was operating on the edge. I'd like to see the business succeed. I will keep fingers crossed.
  18. Better than twice what Bruce was getting. A bit steep for my taste, but I do hope he can generate the $ to keep improving the facility. It's a shame to see it rot.
  19. Awesome!
  20. Can't wait for pictures! It sounds like the trip of a lifetime.
  21. Herring has been in short supply the past few years. I've looked unsuccessfully. If you happen upon a source, please pm me. Thx.
  22. You and me both, brother.
  23. Know that the entire University community will grieve together with you as the flags are flown half-staff.
  24. Like most of you, I'm far less worried about eating locally sourced fish than I am about all the other crap that's used to make the stuff around us, things that we'd have never even considered a decade ago. Teflon coatings. Microplastics in our shaving cream. I'm no Chicken Little, but there's enough data out there to conclude that many of these things are not entirely benign. The issue is determining cause-and-effect. I mean, look, it took 40 years for public acknowledgement that cigarettes might have some nasty stuff in them that's bad for you. And that was like, "Duh, of course" to most folks. I can't imagine how long it will take to do the same for the less obvious stuff we use every day. And it's cost-benefit, too. Try weighing some ridiculous allergy again the benefits of plastic. Non-starter. That is, until we find out that we've sterilized the human race by creating a cosmic Dr. Snip through some unanticipated avenue - like applying flame retardants to baby's clothing - we won't move on the issue. So, since we can't do jack all about it, we should all just grab some wings and a beer and enjoy the games this weekend. Go Bills!
