Last year I fried a valve on my port engine Both my engines have been babied since the boat has been new (I'm the original owner). My mechanic said more than likely it was the crap gas we all have to deal with. He said his business has been booming with all the engine repairs from this fuel. 2k for new rings, springs , valve job and good going over. You can bet that I'll being putting the ethanol treatment in my tanks every fill up. That stuff is expensive but its worth it in the long run. Good luck this season and tight lines.

I use storm swim shads in The upper. I have had good luck with walleye and sucker patterns. I use The 9inchers. Jiggin. Havent fished the upper in few years. Figured with the vhs issue, i would give them a break. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

float fishing
Missdemeanor replied to lennybones's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I'm no expert at stream fishng. This past weekend I was fishing a trib and we did extremely well floating. Ive never done it before and I have to admit it was fun. I was surrounded by guys who were fly fishing. They had thier share of action. I did happen to notice that they ,as a group, snagged more than were legally taken. When one of them hooked a fish in the mouth they announced it so everyone would know . I kinda laughed to myself and kept on getting bites. Probably had 30 bites and only two were fouled. I immediately broke the foul hooked fish off. The other guys hauled them in by tails and fins. I am not steriotyping flyfishermen, heck the casting alone is an art, just reporting what I witnessed. -
Sweet man Great pics and awesome play by play....I absolutely love sea duck hunting. Been to Maryland with Pitboss (Jeff Coates) and I'm tentatively going to Rhode Island Next January for "Eidahs" and Scoters. Call me crazy but I'll hunt divers and Sea ducks over popcorn ducks and sky carp any day.

Bird ID.....Pretty sure that's a domestic goose. Lots of times they escape from Farms and set up residency in local areas. There is one on the Genny that hangs out with some Canadas. They tends to be about as ornery as the darn swans.

Rob was that a park duck? Great pics man....

Not too scenic...Not of fishing...But these are my all time favorite pictures. Keeping up with Jerry's pics of his labs, here's my buddy Parker doing what he loves.....

What a tough life those guys have up in the Bearing Sea. A tough loss for the family and fleet. Captain Phil was a dedicated fisherman and he cared a lot about his crew. Hell he stayed out for days after the blood clot incident while fishing Opies. I'm sure the Boys(Jake and Josh) will carry on Phil's legacy and the Cornelia Marie will be at it again....RIP Captain.....

Very nice....Those are some hogs..... -
Just shot one of the Savage ML2 muzzle loaders the other day....Holy NO smoke! I was impressed with the accuracy and the extremely low recoil. Crome like you said...You only need one shot. I think that going to a Muzzle Loader will make me a better hunter Plus it puts a new spin on deer hunting.. Good luck with the Savage 20.....Mid summer I'll have the new smoke pole with a nice piece of glass on it.....

I used to use St. Croix's but they stopped making them more than 10 years ago. Too bad because I broke one recently. I went with the Okuma Blue diamond...Not the roller rods...Plain old flimsey 10'6 s and I put a twilly on the ends. They have been awesome....

Those are hand made custom mold decoys that me and my buddy make. My buddy carver a blank out of wood. Used layered latex to make the mold. Then we used two part expanding foam for the body and heads. The Keels are pine. Those are the prototypes. As of right now we have Battleship BlueBills, Canvasbacks, Whistlers, Scoters. My buddy also stated making regular size Bills, Cans, and redheads......I like the monster Dekes because they are different and you don't need a lot of them....

I appreciate the comments guys. I knew there would be a few posts from guys who muzzle load the traditional way VS in lines. Its kinda like Bow hunters who use traditional longbows VS guys who use compounds. The area I hunt is open to center fires. I figured I could buy a gun that could preform like a rifle, but could also allow me to hunt the late season. From what I have read, The savage is a pretty devastating weapon that would fit that bill. I'm with you Ray, Usually one shot one Kill. Ive tried to discipline myself to that and I've found that I tend to wait for the perfect shot to ensure a humane kill. I was once one of the "Sprayin and Prayin guys" but with getting older comes the patience......Thanks again for all the feed back.

Guys....I'm going to get into shooting a muzzle loader next year and I'm going to start doing my homework. A friend of mine shoots a Savage ML2 and loves it. He says shooting the smokeless powder is awesome. Anyone shoot one of these guns? If so what kind of range can you get out of them? Thanks for the help.......
