  1. Yes that's our buddy Steve that fishes with us. He has taken over the reigns and will be renaming her to "Start Me Up" soon.
  2. Yes, I'd mount the simrad transducer on the port side! I'd mount the FishHawk on the opposite side as I have heard rumors of chirp causing interference.
  3. Still bad, but Sunday they seemed to come off a bit easier. May just be my eternal optimisim however
  4. It is bluetooth enabled, so I use a spare phone at the helm to monitor. I need to mount the rear display higher. I am thinking of mounting the base to the topside of my downrigger. I really wish Fishhawk would have made their display more "standard". A rectangular black box. It would have looked much better installed on the dash.
  5. Bay Bridge Tackle should have them. It is on the West side of the bridge across Sodus Bay.
  6. A huge thank you to Jerry and his team at Hughes for making the BBQ happen! The pot sizes for Big Fish Friday and the $100 Calcutta are getting big! Remember, you can get in on the BFF even if you can't fish the Salmon Slam on Saturday, just let me know. Please make sure I have your payment before 6AM on Friday (7/27) for BFF.
  7. The strong west winds brought warmer water to Sodus and pushed the temp lower in the water column. Most kings this weekend came 80-110 down over 130-170fow. Every bite except 3 came on the downrigger, and all but one of them were on spoons, the other on meat. Morning bite was excellent, but quickly died around 8am. We aren't exactly early risers, but both days we set lines around 715am and hit fish immediately. Shelly snack spoons on Saturday and a magnum blue green spoon Sunday were our "hot" items and took multiple fish. We found a ton of fish out there, but struggled to turn them on. The sonar was lit as we circled a 1/4 mile area all weekend. Others reported scattered fish and very slow fishing. Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Yup, I'm still here, but a new boat and name since Tavion "Ruff" passed. I've been trying to spend less time on my phone, but still posting live updates on Facebook and summary reports on here. Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. No nothing formal this year. Docker's Restaurant changed hands again and I quite frankly didn't have enough time up there to try to pull something different together again. Many of us will likely head to dinner informally (perhaps Marlins restaurant, separate tables/checks) and mingle though.
  10. I might be missing it, but do we have to sign up for BFF separately or is that included in the ProAm registration/fee? Signed up for the Pro Division Saturday, looking forward to another great event!
  11. A quick update... Hughes will again this year host a BBQ on tourney day!
  12. It was a beautiful day out there until the heat hit! If you click the video link, then once it opens click the title, it should open it in youtube and give you full controls [emoji106] Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Amazing fishing continues in Sodus. 730-1030 this morning produced 20+ bites. 130-230 fow. Spoons took all but 1 bite. 40-60 down early, 60-80 later with free sliders and shallow diver doing steelhead later in the morning. Here is a new format we are trying for our reports:
  14. We weren't out today, but had a lot of friends out. They ran pretty much the same spread as you and did well. It may just not have been your day. It certainly can be frustrating!
  15. You were in the right area. How deep were your lures? All spoon bite right now! Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. The rosters have been updated and posted on the first post of this thread. For folks that signed up, but did not specify if they wanted to do the BFF or $100 optional Calcutta, please let me know if you wish to be added. Also, if anyone sees their name missing on any of the rosters, please let me know and I'll get it updated. Only a month away!
  17. Great job! I'm glad the weather and fish cooperated! Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Ok guys, I started a new thread for 2018, please post any new comments there. Thanks!
  19. Salmon Slam Roster / Big Fish Friday Roster / $100 Optional Calcutta Roster 2018 Healing Waters Salmon Slam will be Saturday, July 28th! We are gearing up for this year's Healing Waters Salmon Slam. For those that have not participated before, this is a one day tournament to take wounded and disabled Veterans fishing. There is no entry fee for the tournament, other than to bring one of the Veterans we supply as part of your team. . This year's event will be on Saturday July 28th, 2018. Teams may leave from either Hughes or Sodus Point this year. Hughes has limited boat slips available, so if you plan to participate this year and want to dock at Hughes, I recommend calling and reserving a dock ASAP. They will also have plenty of room for trailer parking if you plan on trailering your boat down. If you have a dock in Sodus and want to fish the event, you will be able to pick your Veteran up at Sodus Marina by car in the morning and then bring him or her to Hughes after fishing, along with your catch, to weigh in. The tournament rules are posted below. Tournament Timeline: Friday AM (7/27) - Big Fish Friday. This is a single salmon 50/50. The largest salmon weighed in will win 50% of the pot, with the other 50% being utilized for the Salmon Slam tournament. The cost is $50 per boat. Fishing can begin any time after 12:01AM and boats need to weigh in at Arneys Marina between 3-4PM. Saturday AM (7/28) - Salmon Slam Tournament. Captains must be at Hughes or Sodus Marina and signed in by 6am. The Veterans will arrive and begin boarding at 6:15am. Once your Veteran is aboard and assuming the lake/bay is manageable, we will group up outside the marina for a group picture before tournament blast off. Fishing will stop at 12:30pm and teams will be required to head in to weigh in and get team pictures between 1-130 (Sodus boats will be given a 30 min extension so they can bring their catch to Hughes for weigh in). There will be a BBQ at Hughes after weigh in. New for 2018! There will be an optional $100 per boat optional Captain's tournament. Many of you more competitive folks have asked for a cash side bet, so here it is! If you'd like to get in on the side bet, it will be $100 per team. The largest salmon will win the pot. If we get more than 10 teams signed up, we may split it into a 1st and 2nd prize.... let's see how many folks might be interested... Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to sign up.
