  1. Congrats Paul, don't think 2 rods extra will be enough to fill that 10 meter, get back to work and try for doubles
  2. You might want to give these guys a shout, I'm sure they'll take care of you, Thousand Island Bait Shop, http://www.tibait.com/ 315-482-9903
  3. If you're trailering the boat, only about 28 miles - under a 1/2 hr ride.
  4. Most sunscreens contain some oils that all have a protein component that will attract fish, WD 40, cod liver oil, bilge oil and such all have this component, avoid the perfumed types. Humans and bears both have the same skin oils so you should mask that scent when handling your tackle because of the imprint of survival in fish to avoid danger. Avoid insecticides of all types, they are fish repellants. Use the sunscreen it will not affect your effort and will prolong your fishing years. You could also buy a funny hat like Jerry's (Rebel) but you will be subject to ridicule.

Glad you decided to join in the fun here at the LOU, it gets better every day
  6. 5000 members in a really big bus Each member has 7 backpacks. In each backpack, there are 7 big cats. For every big cat there are 7 little cats. Question: How many right legs are there in the bus? There is no bus driver ...wait this sounds too much like the thread that never dies...
  7. 2776 posts at 52 yrs. old, must be some wizdom in them old bones. Have a hairy birthday.
  8. Try using the search feature on the top of the page, there are some reports out of Oswego as well as Fairhaven, Sodus .and Mexico Bay,Henderson Harbor etc. Also check FatNancystackle.com they usually have the oswego skinny. The rest of the fishing reports will give you a good idea of what's working around the lake. Good luck.
  9. Ray, thanks for filling in for me, the trip wasn't on my calendar either so Jerry had to be surprised. I had the day off to catch up on chores at the cottage and spend time with the wife so I knew he'd be well taken care of with the LOU boys to fish with and he was looking forward to it. Sorry I couldn't make it in from Lyntucky but not too many summer weekends free to do other things. Tom, thanks for sticking up for Jerry and spanking Ray but I'm sure he will convey what he really meant more clearly later, and I'm sure he thought Jerry needed the bash for his part in how the day went, all in good fun. Hope I can be there for the next outing, sounds like quite an adventure.
  10. Have another great year, maybe you can string 36 together now that your older, back to back 300's was pretty cool too! Good luck and good fishing.
  11. welcome aboard, try the piers at the outlet of I-bay, Webster, the Charlotte or Summerville piers. There's usually some action at Russell Station or along the shores of the ponds in Greece, Long Pond, Round Pond, Buck pond, Braddocks Bay all have open shores to fish. Good Luck and check the open seats section of the site to hitch a ride on the Big O for some real hot action.
  12. Tank, good job and report. Gator the dark fish color is a sign the fish has been higher in the water column for feeding as well as first signs of staging. Predators and prey fish will each change color to aide in hunting or survival. The nice silvers have been in the deep cold water most of time and the darker ones are spending more time in warmer higher water. The larger fish are more tolerant of the warmer water and will usually be in it sooner than the others in preparation for the spawning run. It's a good clue that these fish are feeding out of temp and prowling the shallower water already. Just thought I'd pass that along to elaborate on your observation.
  13. Don't know Greg, he's very sensitive about his hat, he wouldn't let me wear it... you must have a special influence on him. He might be trying to look as good as you and spending too much time posing in front of the mirror to read this thread.
  14. I don't know about "brokeback charters" I'm leaning toward "Fat Chance Charters" unless the eating habits change. Next year we need to get them two matching pink fidoras with double-chin chin straps. Just kiddin', we'll get black fidoras.
  15. I can't believe they both wear the same size hat! Dave did you have the camera on Panaramic setting for both of them? You guys are the best, made it another fun tournament trail this year... thanks
  16. Get well soon Bob and you can wear the new wardrobe you get from the hospital with your plaid pants. Should turn some heads with that outfit.
  17. How many do you need to make a meal? I hear they're hmmm hmmm good. Great idea!!
  18. Nice work figuring out those skies Chad, don't forget to thank Hank for getting the little boat running smooth for ya.
  19. Glad to hear that the phone calls made a difference and the director of the tournament (not a fisherman) will be changing that category for future tournaments to protect the species and keep the high ethical standards the RC is known for. Way to go Solgrande.
  20. Hi, I was going to wish you a happy birthday earlier, but I thought should I or shouldn't I, then I figured I was too late anyhow and shouldn't bother, but I couldn't help but think that would you might prefer to not to be wished a belated happy birthday so rather than try to come to a perfect solution for the dilema I found myself in, I hope you have a decisively great year.
  21. Welcome to the site, be sure to pass it along to your other buddies up north so you'll get more reports from the north shore and a clearer picture of the whole lake. Lots of good info here to get your program tuned in so enjoy.
