    Yes... there were two crashes into the Summerville pier in 2008. The first occured in June: 3 women were killed around 2 am when a Baja Outlaw hit the pier in excess of 50 mph. The operator (had the boat about a week) was convicted of BWI and 3 counts of Manslaughter 2nd. The second crash happened in ~August (not certain) at approx 11pm, four people injured/survived... alcohol involved. There have been multiple other crashes into that pier at night over the recent years.
