  1. Hi Sk8man, Good luck tomorrow. Hope you and the boy get into them. Sorry about the name mix up Admiral, I was taking a shot . I have done the "circle thing" more than a few times myself as well, makes it interesting . Good fishing all! LTtroller (Bob)
  2. Hi Bringley. Did you have plans or did you just wing it? ( ) If you had plans where did you get them? What was the approx. cost? Trying to decide if its worth the time & effort vs. buying 1. Thanks for any help! LTtroller (Bob) PS- Fishing Again? - .
  3. Hey Adam. GREAT JOB! Sounds like some nice size fish too. Ya can't end in a draw though - how do you know who is buying the beer? IF the last few weeks have been any indication of things to come, it is going to be an AWESOME fall on Canandaigua Lake. Good fishing to all. LTtroller (Bob)
  4. Hi all. Does anyone know of a place locally to buy a custom duck boat blind? I believe there is a place in Canandaigua, but dont know where or who it is? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. LTtroller (Bob)
  5. Hey Todd. Is the boy out fishing you yet? Im sure he's having a ball with the bluegill action. Did you move down Hemlock way or are you still in Canandaigua? LTtroller (Bob)
  6. Decided to try Canandaigua this morning for a few hours and was determined to give my wire/flasher/flies a "fair" shot before going to the old standby - "meat rig". Well marked good bait and fish, and hooked into several right away, but had the dropsies . First 4 got off, only 1 felt decent, but still 0-4, not good. Finally got 1 in the net, a LT just over 8lbs. Ran 2 wires, out 160-210 on #3 setting over 75-150FOW. Green flasher/fly combos. Gave the meat rig a run for 1/2 hour and managed a 19" pig of a smallie , suspended in 75FOW. Fished the north end, ~7:30-10:30a.m. LTtroller (Bob)
  7. Hi lakebound88. I have not caught a big brown previously on Seneca, and my limited experience w/ LL is that it would have been dancing or at least headed towards the surface. IDK what to think other than a pissed off, slob of a fish. Those LL sure can be fun, and an 8 lber is a nice one. I caught 1 about that size on the Big-O earlier this year that put on quite a show . I doubt I will get back down there again this year w/ LOC starting up, and the fabulous fall fishing on Canandaigua, but if I do you can bet I'll be looking for that fish . LTtroller (Bob)
  8. Ya areyounuts I can only speculate at this point. Certainly did not feel like a laker the way it was pulling, but it wasn't ripping out line either & it was staying down. With the surface temp approaching 80, I guess any salmonid would fight like hell to stay down . I guess it's just another "big one that got away" story now. Good fishing to all! LTtroller (Bob)
  9. Hey Mike. Yes I use snubbers on my wire rods. Unfortunate that it didn't help me any in this case. On the bright side, that fish will be bigger next time . Glad to see things are picking up for you on Canandaigua. Maybe I'll see you out there 1 of these days. Take care. LTtroller (Bob)
  10. Fished Seneca for the 1st time this year. Went 4 for 5, 4 lakers, 1 fish I wish I saw . Ran the seth green rig in the a.m. for an hour and caught a stocker I never knew I had . Ran 2 riggers for an hour w/ no touches. In the p.m. I ran flasher/flys (green combos) and caught 3 clipped lakers in the 4-6lb range. Had a fish on that had "head shake" like nothing I have ever felt. Almost non-stop shaking. Wasn't ripping line, but just constant pulling. Wasn't gaining much on the line counter after 5 minutes or so, and was kinda just hangin' on when, 1 more wicked shake and gone . I was sick. I knew it was a "good one", and am curious as hell as to what it was. My guess would be a SLOB laker, but have never had 1 thrash that much. Wire set out 210 on 3 setting was the ticket over 80-120FOW. Fished couple miles south of Severne launch. Good fishing all! LTtroller Bob
  11. Bloodshot - when Brian says pm shift, he means noon till 4. Just took a 1/2 day off to fish, must be nice huh? Sorry to hear your vacations over, back to reality . Take care. LTtroller (Bob)
  12. No problem Brian. Glad we went this morning. Wish we could of had that kind of action with majors . Hope you can find me a replacement for "my hot lure" . Have fun up north this weekend, we'll leave a few fish out there for ya . Tom - I think about 1/3 were clipped. We sort of lost track. They were all nice, healthy, chunky fish. Some of NY's finest! Good luck this weekend all. LTtroller (Bob)
  13. Thanks Chad. The Lake O thing is very addicting when the fish are cooperating. Now I just gotta quit letting the boy out fish me! LTtroller (Bob)
  14. Great job guys and nice report Mike. Looks like the lake it starting to turn on . I'll have to make a trip over there one of these days. Hope you get your motor issues figured out. Take care. LTtroller (Bob)
  15. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: LTtroller ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7/11/10 Time on Water: 5-9pm Weather/Temp: 80+ Wind Speed/Direction: NE - E Waves: 0-1ft. Surface Temp: 72 Location: North of creek, lol LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 12 Total Boated: 9 Species Breakdown: Kings, sthd, coho, atlantic Hot Lure: Orange stinger Trolling Speed: 2-2.6 Down Speed: I would like to know Boat Depth: 130' - 200' Lure Depth: 35' - 100' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Took a chance the fun and sunners might be done by 5pm so headed for the lake. Well, still plenty of them out and 1 a.. h... just about swamped me power loading his speed boat on the launch side. That did not set a good tone for this trip, but luckily the fish were ready to cooperate. The boy and I set up in 120' and headed NE into the slight chop. Wasn't long before a nice steelie took my new favorite Michigan Stinger (Orange w/black dots). We picked along with a nice mix of steelhead & cohos, and then about 200FOW the wire out 275' with hammer/white sd & hammer fly (both of which I just purchased 2 hrs. ago) starts rippin'. I am relatively new to the LO fishing, but I instantly knew to get the other 3 lines up. The line counter was at 650 before it even thought about slowing down and the boy (and me too) were beginning to panic. After a long battle, we netted a beautiful 25.5lb. king. We (should I say - I) lost another good major on the same set-up, in the same area, about an 1hr. later. Did hit a few more fish and ended the night with a nice atlantic. We fished until about 9pm and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. 2 side notes - 1) fleas did not seem as bad as mid-week, although I did switch over to 30# big game and the rigger lines weren't left in the water for any extended periods of time - darn fish! 2) all fish caught on an NE troll. Good luck all. LTtroller (Bob)
  16. Sounds like you are really dialed in Jeremy. Great job! Looks like you found a new fishing partner, and I'm sure she is better looking than Brian too . Although she brought food, it is tough to beat Costanza products so you still might be "in" Brian. With the season you are having Jax I am glad to hear you are an avid catch and release guy. Keep it up! LTtroller (Bob)
  17. Yes BT. I could actually could make out the "X"s on the Atlantic. Plus, I've never seen one of our "football" browns put on an aerial show like that Plus, I would have recognized it if it was a brown . How did you make out Freddie? I'm sure an X-management guy knew just where to look for um. BTW sorry about the quick off load at the launch, my boat usually doesn't come off that quick - I think the boy helped it a little too much. Hope I didn't piss off your partner . Ya Tom, Brian tries to name them all so he can call them onto his line at a later date . Not sure about the debris Gator. I saw a good amount of weeds mixed with sticks, and today seemed like more duck weed in certain areas. Also fleas are getting bad. LTtroller (Bob)
  18. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:LTtroller ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):July 6 & 7 Time on Water: 6 - 10am Weather/Temp: SMOKIN' HOT Wind Speed/Direction: Calm Waves: 0 to ripple Surface Temp: 68 - 72 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 12 Total Boated: 12 Species Breakdown: Kings, cohos, steelhead & atlantic Hot Lure: GREEN Trolling Speed: 2.4 - 2.9 Down Speed: ? Boat Depth: 130' - 250' Lure Depth: 40' - 110' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Well braved the smoking temps to fishing the last 2 mornings. Did 6-6 on Tuesday & 6-6 today. Tuesdays bite was good on the NBK spinny w/ crinkle green fly @ 275 on wire (#3 setting). It took a nice 23# king. Mainly in the 200FOW area. Wish I could have gotten a laker to complete the L.O. cycle Today was not as predictable with no real good set up or color (?). Did do 2 very nice steelies on stinger orange w/ black dots, 40' down & back 30'. Most action came in a little closer today @ ~150FOW. Did 3 fish in a little over a 1/2 hour but things slowed right down after that. A side note - lots of logs and debris out at the 200' depths so be carefull. Good luck all! LTtroller (Bob) ====================
  19. Nice fish guys! Sorry to have given you the wrong leader board standings when I called you back Brian. Guess I have never needed to read the leaderboard before . Tom sorry to hear about the tangle issues, I feel your pain. Wait a minute, maybe it's Brian, he tangled my wires last time out too . Nice looking picture of the salmon and your boat Tom, but next time find some hot babe at Hamlin Beach to hold the fish instead of Brian Keep trying guys the "biggie" is still out there! At least till next week when I hit the water LTtroller (Bob)
  20. AWESOME BROWN! Looks like I better start fishing closer to home and give up on Canadaigua Congrats on the beautiful fish.
  21. Hi. Sutton 71 has been the best producer for me the past few years. Silver, hammered w/ treble hook. Sutton 35 is a good 1 too. I bounce bottom with a seth green rig, and go SLOW. Good luck. LTtroller (Bob)
  22. Thanks for the report. Nice to see someone is catching fish on Canandaigua this year. I've gone twice without moving a rod and from other reports I have read things seem slow. Hopefully things will pick up. Nice job with the 3, the "BIG ONE" always seems to get away! Maybe next trip. LTtroller Bob
  23. Hey BT. I'm sure the lakers are still there I just didn't get the gear deep enough I guess. I'll take the steelhead over the lakers anyhow. Yea the boy is a cocky sob , especially when he lands his and I don't . Your load must be pushing 4" per tank, on a hot day, GOOD LUCK - with A-AL too!. Hope he doesn't fall off the barge Might try Sandy again tomorrow a.m., or maybe Hemlock. See ya Thursday. LTtroller (Bob)
  24. Nice fish! Is the shirt you are wearing giving us a tip as to what you were using? LTtroller Bob
