OK, not completely, but I got you to look! Actually, I had posted this for sale at $10Kearlier, but with the new boat on the way we're basically looking to cut our losses and sell it at rock-bottom pricing. After taking into account the re-sale values on the new dual axle trailer, the 9.9 4-stroke merc. kicker with ex-lift mount, and the new crate engine, block, heads, starter and alternator, plus all the gear that's included for the new price of $7,995, the boat itself really is free! I'm posting this for a friend, and we have since brokered the boat with Smith Boys Marina in Rochester for sale, so please don't reply to me, but instead contact Craig at Smith Boys (585-467-4040 or [email protected]) to ask any questions or to arrange for a water test. (Note that they may still have the $10K price listed on their website, but we today had them reduce it, so it may take a bit of time to catch up on-line) I can tell you that this boat runs amazingly well - nothing to worry about mechanically because we've already replaced about all the mechanics on it and is a fantastic fishing boat. Here's the text from my previous post with all the info on the boat. FWD: 1985 27ft I/O Sportcraft hardtop for sale with Merc/Chevy 350 V8 engine, new bunk trailer, large cuddy, 4 elec. downriggers, GPS, fish finder, depth rader (down-speed and temp. sensor), rocket launchers, heavy-duty trolling bags, planner board masts with reels, life jackets, ship/shore/weather radio, anchor with lines and there's even a washdown pump with fishcleaning station included, 4-step galv. steel swim ladder, 2 fish coolers, 2 baitwells, and 2002 Merc. four-stroke kicker motor on trolling bracket. This boat is beyond set up and ready to fish with tons of floor space (4-6 guys can comfortably fish on this boat, or has enough room for 2+ familys to go out and cruise) and at an amazing price for what's included here. The hard top means that you can fish in any weather, and it has a full 3-piece drop curtain on the back with windows and door - the hardtop is a fantastic feature and hard to come by on a boat of this size and in this condition!! A new crate engine, new starter, new alternator, and cooling system, (including circulating pump, impeller, thermostat and all hoses) have all been added to this boat within the last 2 years - the main engine probably only has 10hrs on it since we put it in!! You won't have to worry about mechanical issues with this boat - it runs amazingly well and fast! The kicker motor is electric start, runs phenominally, has helm mounted throttle and on/off control and has been connected to main fuel line, so no extra tanks to haul to run the kicker - just turn the key and fire it up from the helm, then adjust throttle as needed at the helm to get on the perfect speed without having to go to back of the boat. It's a four stoke so it's super quiet, no gas/oil mixing, and has power to push it even in 4-5 footers! The cuddy has more than enough room to sleep 3 adults, includes a head, and doesn't leak!! The trailer is a 2010 alum. bunk trailer that has been used only 3 times - to bring it up and haul her back from the great lakes. Dual batteries with switch and $100 worth of gas in the tank is also included! Due to our increasingly busy schedule, and distance from the great lakes, we have decided that we needed to downgrade to a smaller boat that we could trailer and use in southern NY where we live - but with all that we have done to this boat recently, how we've maintained it, and how well it runs/fishes, we're very sad to have to see her go!! Andy - 5 and 7 colors on the cores

Went out of watkins village marina at 8am and trolled north along west side up to saltplant, then back down to harbor for a few hours. managed 5 LLs - one was 6lbs, rest were 2-4lbs. Ran all spoons - had 2 riggers down 60 & 80 with cheaters, 2 leadcores and 2 flat lines off planer boards. only the lead cores took fish. trolled at 1.8-2.2mph and orange or red spoons with gold backs took all fish. No action on green or anything below 30ft. Water is stained and most debris is on east side of the lake. good conditions, got some fish in the boat and it was great to be out on the water again!

based on fishing standpoint alone and no other factors, I'd pick Cayuga. I've never been skunked there and there are many types of fish / water to work. There were seasons (it seemed) that I'd get skunked on seneca, although looking back, it was probably due more to the types of programs I was running and when. Considering other factors, such as dealing with Ithacans (no offense - present company excluded), boat traffic, distance, etc., I'd actually choose Seneca first, but you asked about fishing factor alone.

no problem. I couldn't believe it myself when I heard it was frozen down there - seems like that water never freezes even when other lakes are all locked up. The water in the marina and even out along the breakwall is extremely brown/stained right now with all the runoff. I've never seen the water like that inside the marina.There were many guys fishing the marina and pier today, but I didn't see any catching, and several guys told me they got skunked. All that should settle out in few days and I'm hoping the fishing will be good for the weekend!

we run the atomix torpedos and love them - won't go back to anything else for deepwater fishing. For shallow water fishing (50ft and up) we use about anything, including the torpedos, 6lb and 8lb balls

just came from watkins this AM and the village launch is open with no ice anywhere in sight. I plan on heading up this weekend, so if anyone has any reports in the coming days please let me know

Thanks for helping us tie up to the slip on saturday night. we'll be up for at least a few more weekends this season and also fish seneca quite a bit so hopefully we can cross paths again. I'll shoot you a pm next time we go up.

went 3 for 5 on LLs. All topwater and leadcore. green and white spoons were the ticket. Fish didn't heat up until 10 today though. Think I may have seen you guys out there but I couldn't get anyone on the radio on ch. 68.

Even with the run in full swing in the near future, there's still plenty of cohos, juvenile kings, browns and rainbows in the lake, so don't let that stop you! We will fish through October for sure.

you're sounding exactly like us man - keep at it. We were just saying how you have a bunch of bad days and then when you're about to give up the fish gods through you a bone to keep you addicted I do agree though, you gotta find the fish, and more will be coming to that area. This weekend it was 100 - 150ft of water, 60 - 120 ft down.

yup - PM erabbit for particulars, but blue ghost gave you a pretty good program. I don't know if you have a FF & speed, but keep your speed slow and try some S-curves to find out what speed/depth they're looking for (hitting on the inside is slower/deeper, outside turn is higher/faster). Don't hesitate to throw out a shallow running line too. Finally, and most importantly, bring lots of snacks, cause on my boat, when the snack run out, the kids want to head home! my opinion is that it catches fishermen (and their money), but others have opinions that it makes a positive difference.

I do, but that also really is what's painted on the concrete outlet near the pond by my house. If anyone's ever driven west on I-86/Rte.17 in Big Flats, near the airport, you know what I'm talking about... Good luck with the fish - that's a great lake to fish on
