  1. That's what it is all about. The time my wife and spend on our boat fishing is really priceless. We bust our humps all week and literally live for the weekends. So many times our only conversations during the week are good morning, good night and what do we need at grocery store for the weekend. For me even though I always fish to put fish in the boat, the conversations and catching up far out weighs what we are doing. It's always nice to send a jab back and forth when a fish is lost whether on the rod or at the net. And amazing enough my wife always manages to grab the rod that has the biggest fish of the day on it? Did you fix your easy steer? Let me know if not, it's an easy fix.
  2. We run copper either off of boards or down the chute. Typically we either run flasher fly or spoons clean.
  3. Fished the west side the entire day up until weigh in for the Lou-All. We had fished the previous morning and literally pounded them. With no other good game plan and the reports of tons of weeds on the east side we stayed on good marks all morning. I could not believe how much bait and the big marks associated with them at most of my wpts. I told myself, the fish would turn and when they do we would be in a place to "fill the boat". We my wife and I plugged away all morning, had a steady pick of small rainbows and LL's. The lakers we were getting in were average. But I could see bigger ones were still there. So we didn't leave fish for fish. 11:30 some one open the buffet for a 15 min feeding frenzy. We had 4 rods go with in 1 min. 1 6lb salmon, 1 laker almost 9 and then average joes. Spoons that produced we green/glow and purples. White on green worked well on the wire. Congrats to Chowder and Crew. And as always Thanks Splitshot for organizing another great event.
  4. Water is warmer then normal from my journals, my buddies is catching them religiously in 30 to 40ft of water on bottom.
  5. Does anybody know where I can an A/C unit to mount to my soft top? My wife is starting to mention that it may be alittle hot for those people who work in A/C all week. It should be interesting to say the least -warm, looks like flat waters? Good luck everybody. And also lets give everybody plenty of room out there, I know alot of guys will be running copper, I really don't feel like re-spooling 500 copper again in a week time.
  6. 8.9. ($30) fish. 8.1 7.6 7.1 6.6. To be honest we targeted silver most of the weekend after we heard about the monster laker on the board. It did pay dividends the wife got a 3rd place finish in the ll category. This weekend a few different presentations are going to be experimented. I have a couple friends out west who swear go big or go home when it comes to lakers. We'll see.
  7. Yes it's sold. Have you been fishing lately. The radio chatter from aurora and north sounds good. More than just lakers
  8. Tell him to buy a boat. Maybe a nice blue and white sport craft. Just kidding.
  9. Diawa heartland roller rod and diawa 47. Absolutely awesome set. Just bought my second set after using the first set for 6 years. First set is still in use just want to run a 4 dipsey as part or my spread. You get what you pay for in my opinion on these.
  10. Great fish, it's always nice when your lucky and good at the same time.
  11. Hey bill, is that weight gone? Would $50 take it?
  12. From what I understand yes it was up to Marina's on whether or not to switch, the problem up until recently was availability. If your supplier stopped carrying it, you were forced to switch. I know the big fuel distribution company here in Vestal emptied it's tank last year and it was a special order item at a much higher price. I am hopeful a few gas stations in ag districts will carry it now aswell so I start running it in my equipment again.
  13. Don's Marina is located north of the Power Plant. And south of Sheldrake on the East Side.
  14. Guys, Don's Marina has transitioned over to non-ethanol fuel. Apparently there was a law suit in Florida between marinas and oil companies and the marinas won. ethanol free gas is available for marine and off road use only. Law suit prohibits it to be sold at the pump at regular gas stations. Good news for boaters now you have weigh your options and decide to spend more on the lake or risk the damage with the cheaper stuff on the roadside gas stations.
  15. I'm in on Cayuga. Hopefully get some long hours in over the long 4 th of July weekend to get a program in place.
  16. I fished on this out of Wilson. Nice rig (even in the dense fog for a shot gun start tournament). This would make a great boat for both the fingers and Lake O. It is equipped great.
  17. I was out this past weekend. I decided to put one heck of a dent in the "honey do" list. This will free me up for the 4 day weekend coming up and the red cross in two weeks.
  18. Thanks for the offer, if I need a hand I will let you know.
  19. David, catch me on the radio or cell. Just about got all the necessary stuff moved in. I will make a quick trip on sat morn then I am assembling a boat hoist. Hopefully get some real time to play on Sunday.
  20. I like the 10pts plus 1 per pound, give us silver fish guys a more even playing field.
  21. Guys this is a great event, we did it last year. They really cater to the anglers with a DJ anouncing the winners and handing out prizes. Also, bring the family, the events for the kids are nice and the food boths beat the PB&J we eat on the boat. I'm in
  22. Just made this repair to my boat similiar problem. Go with the extreme bend cables $25 bucks and you'll be amazed what a difference it makes. There is also an adjustment on the throttle control at the helm on some boxes.
  23. Put me down for 3. Are you ever on Cayuga? If not I'll pay the shipping
