  1. had a chance meeting with a owner of a fabricating shop today and I was amazed that he had build and installed two handicap lifts. we talked for 45 min. and I left feeling very good about his design. he has promised me that he will draw up the design concept so that I can present it to the people at Meyers Point. I will be able to explain how it works and how it will be installed after he gets the prints to me. the pricing was not discussed but I'm sure it will be reasonable. basic concept will be a swing style gantry with 12 volt crane, lifting the individual with a sling, this will allow the use of smaller boats that do not have the room to move a wheelchair out of the way to return the lift to it's start position. any and all suggestions, ideas or thought are appreciated . GOD bless Rollie
  2. first engineering firm was a no-go, but, they gave me the names of two more places to check and they are going to check with corporate about donation. I hope to contact these next two companies for a end of week meeting or the first of next week. I will try to keep everyone updated as I go. GOD bless Rollie
  3. I am just starting to get the ball rolling on a project that was laid on my heart. What I would like to do is place a wheel chair lift or ramp at Meyers Point launch. With this lift in place we or I will be able to take wounded or disabled vets out for a day of fishing. I have set up a meeting with an engineering / manufacturing company for Mon. Jan. 30th, hoping they will design a lift that will allow a wheel chair to be lowered into a boat. After this is completed I will present it to Lansing Park for there approval What I would like to know is how much interest there is to help out, donating time, money or a day on your boat for this cause. This project is something that I can not do alone but with the fishing communities support I'm sure it can happen. Please post your thoughts, suggestions or ideas. Thank you and GOD bless. Rollie

  7. my personal findings are the rapala loop is far better than using a snap or cross lock. i have taken the time to tye most of my sticks with two ft of floro and a small barrel. changing is as easy as changing a spoon. smithwick rattling rouge, green with black splatter, is the top dog on my boat !!
  8. our money has been sent in....if the date is changed and i'm signed up for a different derby that day, will i get my money back???

  10. does anyone know if the canal at sandy pond is open for boat traffic to and from the lake.
  11. STARTED LAKE TROLLING WITH A 14' FLAT BOTTOM JON AND A 28 HP. JET DRIVE (MY RIVER BOAT) NEVER HAD A TOO FAST ISSUE WITH THAT RIG, BUT PULLED MOSTLY SPOONS.
  12. sean, would you give details on your rod set up. ie. low rod lead core middle rod short copper high rod........ you must have a great driver !!
  13. tried plastic and spoons behind them, no luck with them, lots of blow back on the riggers
  14. had an old set of yellow birds ,drilled and screwed them two inches insde the otter keel at the same angle. workes great even with a 400 and 500 copper off the same board!! (better pull, more floatation)
  15. money has been sent, looking forward to seeing the gang.
  16. use blood run 45# copper on a LC 800, short (10 ft.) 50 # leader. once you find the depth and the line out it will absolutly wear you out reeling in the lakers, to the point where you try to shake off the dinks.. this set up is splitshots set up and it pounds the fish!!!
  17. wyalusing area (PA) all the local ponds/ small lakes have safe ice, but watch out for the beaver runs!!
  18. no ,i live in PA. but travel the 3 plus hours to fish it. great fun when you are into them. it may take you 200 + fish to get a bucket of jumbos but it's a blast. great time for the kids!!
  19. ordered a new ION electric auger and a replacement / upgrade vexlar, hope we get ice!!! would love to break them in on henderson harbor perch.
  20. launched at treaman at 9:00 ran to the drop and set lines, west side 60 fow. trolled to crowbar before hitting first fish, dink L.L. made a swing to hit the point again and the 55 ft rigger goes. nice clean laker, no lamprey marks, resetting rigger both short coppers go,180 fow, two nice L.L. stay out over 200 -250 fow and turn to head back north, steady action on the short coppers untill we get to tunkhannock. turned at the boyscout camp and trolled south. rounded the point at tunkhannock and picked up a 20+ inch rainbow. short copper again. headed towards the high cliff and picked up a brownie on the 55 ft. rigger. we pulled lines at 2:00 to head back in the long copper and the 40 ft. rigger both had dink L.L totals for the day 18 for 23. green on blue and watermellon did all the fish.
  21. i have been fishin the fingers for many years and the one thing that hasnt been mentioned, the fact that last hours hot spoon and perfect depth wont cacth another fish that day, this is what keeps me coming back. there has been so many times that ive taken fish two passes in a row then never move a rod till i change location or speed or depth or color or direction. this being said i will spill my guts to anyone that asks because it all has changed. may be the same the next day at the same time, but not to likely . gotta love this game!!
