  1. Tough item to find this time of year used, although with the economy you never know. I would check places like Craiglist and move quickly when one appears.
  2. A couple days of warm weather, no wind and a flat lake have pushed the lake temp to about 70 as of today and the pack of boats is out front in pursuit of perch. The bass fishing has finally turned on as well. This is Dunkirk that I am posting about.
  3. Our inept legislators and the governor have managed to open all the parks for the summer, the flip side of this is more fees assessed to various high tech businesses to help pay for it. The legislation was passed late yesterday/early today.
  4. Still for sale TTT
  5. I had a 22 Sylvan and ran four riggers for years with no problems. Also had a 1/2 platform off the back and a kicker on a bracket.
  6. In todays fishing column in the Dunkirk Observer-there are no reports of perch catches.
  7. The only boats that really have outboards in quantity are fishing style boats in aluminum and some in fiberglass under 20 ft. Over the past 15 years the market has moved toward the I/O as the primary source of propulsion. Either option can be problematic but my own experience has been that the I/O option has cost me more money in terms of repair.
  8. Even using someone elses money a single big outboard and a four stroke kicker is the most efficient way to go.
  9. I had a 22 aluminum sylvan which had two strakes on either side of the keel, one only went partially back and would get hung up by the bunks, so if your boat is aluminum check that possibility.
  10. I have nothing to do with this post, however the ad is interesting and Cruisers boats are built like a Sea Ray, Tiara Pursuit etc.: it also has the glass floor with snap in carpets. http://buffalo.craigslist.org/boa/1682000449.html
  11. I have used an 8 hp two stroke on a 22 Sylvan and currently fish on a 25 Grady with a 9.9 Four Stroke without high thrust and have had no issues.
  12. Having run a 115 Mercury on an 18 Starcraft, a 115 Evinrude on a 17 MFG, you may in fact not have to use the trolling plate and you may have to kick it up a bit from slow troll. I have never had the problem with trolling a big two stroke and currently have a 75 Mercury.
  13. Black standard boom length $100.00 for the pair plus shipping includes the mounting bases. or pick up in Dunkirk/Fredonia NY full disclosure, one of these is a year or two new so they are not a perfect match on the little things.
  14. The owner of this collection passed away last summer. Some of these were fired up last fall, MOST WERE NOT . They are all priced accordingly taking that into account For example, the Force outboards have good compression but poor spark plug wires. The motors that are basket cases for whatever reason are listed as parts motors. At this level of pricing you can almost buy two to make one work but I don't think that is the case on these, and when not used they were inside. Cassadaga is about 1 hours drive from metro Buffalo. The Mariner and the Evinrude posted separately are part of this. The executrix would like to sell these and the rest of the property this spring to settle the estate. Mercury 3.9 hp red stripe (1971) $150.00 Force 9.9(1990's) good compression $250.00 Force 9.9(1990's) good compression $250.00 Sears Gamefisher 5.0 $100.00 1974 Johnson 6hp $300.00 1973 Evinrude 6hp $300.00 1980 3.6 Mercury missing tiller handle $150.00 1950's Johnson 5.5 parts motor $ 75.00 1975 Evinrude 15 hp $450.00 1974 Johnson 6hp $250.00 1960's Mercury 6.0 hp white $150.00 (owner kept this aside) 1950's Johnson 7.5 hp(red) $125.00 1971 Johnson 5 hp $175.00 1971 Johnson 5 hp $175.00 1950's Johnson 5.5 hp(red) $125.00 1950's Evinrude 7.5 hp $125.00 1970's Johnson 6 parts motor $ 75.00 missing lower unit 1950's johnson parts motor 5.5 green 75.00 Sears Gamefisher 3.0 125.00
  15. This motor has had some use but I really don't think a lot of hours. Was purchased as part of a boat package back in the 1980's, probably used for one season and it was replaced by a larger motor. Run by me last fall for about 1/2 hour and runs good. $450.00 or best offer
  16. This motor was part of a collection of motors that were in an estate. It sat tucked in the corner of the garage for over 20 years. I believe I was the first to run it last fall for about 1/2 hour. It has the 100/1 tags on it for the mix which leads me to believe it is an 85 or 86. It looks like a new motor. Short shaft Asking $525.00 or best offer. Motor is located in Dunkirk/Fredonia/Cassadaga area of Western NY.
  17. I have no connection to this boat, appeared on Craigslist today and if I were looking, I would at least give the guy a call. http://rochester.craigslist.org/boa/1639282642.html
  18. I am bringing it to sell at the LOTSA show on 2/28.
  19. Price is $375.00-this is boat only-1973 but in excellent shape, needs some minor TLC like outside transom board replaced. Boat is heavy aluminum. The front seat was dinged at one time but repaired(likely someone dropped a concrete anchor on it) Boat located in Dunkirk, NY
