  1. These are a couple "before" pictures. Others will be coming.
  2. 4/4 update, the ice pack has shrunk a lot. http://www.wkbw.com/news/local/Ice-on-L ... 24384.html
  3. I am currently re-doing a 1956 15 Crestliner.
  4. As of 4/2 no docks in, smaller boats launching at ramp next to Black North
  5. The motor box takes up a lot of the space on the 19 so go for the 22. As time moves forward these other boats become older and older but there are also 22s in Lunds, Crestliners, Sylvans, Sea Nymphs and Princecrafts. They have just been discontinued over time by their manufacturers. I owned a 22 Sylvan for 7 years, it was very deep and could handle 3 or 4 guys fishing.
  6. I have taken 3 of my older small outboards to Olson Brothers in Derby with reasonable cost of repairs.
  7. At least another week for the ice boom to be removed according to reports yesterday-still estimating 500 sq miles of ice.
  8. I have the 17 Starcraft Superfisherman-you need to pick your days on the big lake. I bought tracks for my riggers-2 Big Jon Electrics-also have the Minn Kota electric up front. It is a comfortable two person boat on good days-3 becomes a crowd. By the way have used it on Lake Erie the past two years-and we get the big waves.
  9. Places to start looking are craigslist, boattrader.com, boats.com etc. This is the time to look and so far this spring there have been boats out there like that from Rochester west so you just need to keep looking and be prepared to buy when your boat comes up.
  10. I would have a survey done on any boat that was in the 20 year old range. You need to be checking structure items such as the transom, stringers, and flooring as a start.

  12. They are basically new, they have sat in a shed for years. One still has the specs paper tag on it, and one has a tire on it-consider that a bonus. Plain rims painted white. $30.00 for the pair Located in Dunkirk, NY could come to Hamburg NY to make arrangements for pick-up.
  13. Good condition, perfect for spare $10.00 I am located in Dunkirk but could meet in the Hamburg NY area. Thanks
  14. This boat was sold last year-for future reference.
  15. price in Canada has gone up as well, price on the market last week was $102.00 per barrel in 2008 it was 145.00 when gas went to $4.25 per gallon. None of our politicians either Democrats or Republicans has addressed the issue since 1973. You could play the same clips from back then, saying we need to do something but have never done anything about it. On a personal note, you just start trying to combine trips so that you don't make one run to only one store which is what I did when it went over the $3.00 mark in 2005. And if you don't have a huge boat, you look for a more efficient vehicle the next time it comes to trade.
  16. as they entered the 1990's, Bayliner improved the power on the boats. I had a 5.0 LX in a Celebrity, I believe it was rated at 220 hp. Most 24 foot boats had the 260hp with the 350 v8-so you give up a little speed and power-top end is going to be in the upper 20 mphs-lower 30 mphs. If you get serious I would have it surveyed, on a 20 year old boat the stringers and transom can have structural issues unless it spent a lot of its life in a barn.
  17. This is the best time of year to sell and my recent experience has been Craigslist. Sure you get the occasional spam but I have moved my own boats and the like on there in the past two years and moved a lot of small outboards on there last spring as part of an estate sale. Didn't think they would all go but they all went. I would also consider paying the $75.00 and put it on Walleye.com. Priced right boats go on there and your 18 Trophy is priced right.
  18. The potential of mechanical issues is a topic on its own. Was the boat stored inside? If it was outside the first place to start is to check out the flooring and the stringers. Some sportcrafts have had stringer issues. And of course it depends on the price.
  19. Buy it, going rate is in the $500.00 range.
  20. I would contact Crownline boats directly to see if they can tell you who the supplier was back then. They were in financial difficulty a year ago but are back in business now.
  21. If you wanted to get rid of the package as boat, motor, trailer, then spring is the time to do it and it does have some value as a package. The 1970's Sea Rays were a well built boat and one of the first of the deep vee boats. As for the Johnson, the V-4's were built starting in the 1950's and well into the 1980's so parts should be available even though OMC went through hard times in 2001. There are a couple places I know that should have the parts for that. If the package is decent, it is worth doing a little work to upgrade it. I had an 1982 115 Evinrude, for trolling and use like that it may have used 12 gallons per day so it was not that bad.
