  2. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Honey Do ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7/27 Time on Water: 3:30-7:00pm Weather/Temp:clear -80ish Wind Speed/Direction: 5 nne Waves: 1-2's with rollers Surface Temp: 76 Location: North out of Bear Creek LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 4 Total Boated: 3 Species Breakdown: kings, coho Hot Lure: Moonshine Carbon Orange, Moonshine MOAB Trolling Speed: 2.8 - 3.1 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 146' Lure Depth: 90-110 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Finally got my boat back from repairs and fresh off a training trip with Capt. Carl Bish and calmer waters for my 16' boat. I went out for a few hours this afternoon and started setting up in 120' with dipsey's out 230' and 300' after reading other reports and set one rigger at 90'. I didn't starting marking fish until I hit 146 and then ran out of them heading north to 175' so I turned and had first king (15lbs) as soon as I hit 146' again. I pulled in both dipsey's and set another rigger down to 110 and caught 2nd king (10lbs) and then had a screamer. Took out 600' before I could turn her and then made 2 more runs after I got her into 100'. Beautiful mature at 27.6 on digi scale. All three kings hit carbon orange and coho (11lbs) took MOAB. I couldn't revive the big king and it is unfortunate because she was loaded with eggs. All others returned to fight another day. ====================
  3. I would have loved to see the "graceful" part - someone should have had a video camera for that move.
  4. Product called Ultra Shield, sold at most Country Max stores and the like. It is used on horses and dogs to keep biting flies off. We use it at the beagle club all the time for both the dogs and on us as it keeps mosquito's away also. They have 12 paks of towelettes and they work great and I have been using them for years. Paul
  5. It is in, and looks good. Water level is very low though!
  6. How about making the sale avaiable via the web! They don't have hours suitable for us working folks that live and hour plus away from Greece.
  7. Product called Ultra Shield made by absorbine and sold at most country hardware stores works 100%. I have a couple of boxes of the "wipes" version in my boat at all times and one packet is enough for arms, legs, and neck.
  8. I am the VP of a group that helps disabled men and women get back into the outdoors - New York Outdoors Unlimited (nyoutdoorsunlimited.com). Every year we hear about people who get seriously injured from falls, not only while hunting from tree stands but from installing as well. NEVER hang stands alone, NEVER do so without a saftey harness, NEVER think that it won't happen to you. Always let someone know, not only the area you are going to hunt but tell them the actual tree stand you will be sitting in. I tell all of our friends and family that I work with a great group of people, but we shouldn't even be in business. Every tree stand on the market comes with a saftey harness - PLEASE use it. I hope your stepson makes a full recovery. Happy Thanksgiving to all, shoot straight and be safe.
  9. Look at the front page of the D & C this morning! It really doesn't matter what the little town folk say, they (turbines) are coming whether we like it or not. Like the article states, the uniformed are voting yes towards this project and do not have a clue what they are voting for. If you listened to some of the supporters at the meeting the other night, they actually believe that these things are going to stop our dependancy on foriegn oil!!!!! added d&c link l&m: http://voteup.democratandchronicle.com/ ... ve-backing
  10. From what I understand, this is a done deal and the towns aren't going to have much to say about it. After reading about the Lake Erie turbines scheduled near Cleveland and how hard everyone faught them, only to have them scheduled to go in without a care towards fisherman or lake front owners concerns. If you watched any news this morning, they are now planning on turbines from the NC coast all the way up to Jersey not to far off the coast line. I'll be there, and I don't like to give up, but I have a very bad feeling that these things are going to rammed right up our
  11. I fished out of Bear Creek on Saturday in 120 to 135 FOW and went 1 for 4. Lost one on a double and one when the 30' boat tried to swamp me as I was netting. Lots of fish marked on the bottom and most with bait. Bishy Bruiser from Moonshine and Monkey puke both in magnum size on the bottom.
  12. I bought 3 from him last year and they work great, especially with my small boat and short downrigger program.

  15. I fished out of Bear Creek on Sat & Sun and had the same mess! I had them (fleas) on my line with 30lb test and on my cables for down riggers. I lost a really nice king because I couldn't reel my line up close enough to net the fish. I have asked everyone for some advise and or help, but it sounds like everyone has the same problems. Paul

  19. Do you own a beagle/beagles and are you thinking how nice it would be to run them in an enclosed facility loaded with plenty of rabbits? Briars and Cedars Beagle Club of Marion NY has openings for 2 new members (capped at 15). The grounds are aprox. 60 acres of fenced and well groomed rolling rabbit cover. The entire running area is enclosed with 5' beagle wire with a 1' curtain along with electric at the top and bottom. plenty of parking and the drive is always plowed during the winter. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact me. Thanks and good running, Paul
  20. I called and they do not have an internet service for sales! The hrs of 10-4 don't help the working guy much, specially when you work 30 miles east of Rochester. One or two evening sales might help out them and us!
  21. 22. nice job and I can back up your story, as I was the 3rd boat that came out and fished your waypoint. I came out of bear creek and had some electronic problems and figured you were on them. We lost one big king after he crossed our dipsey and yes the flies were the worst.
  23. No, you can't pay as you go. I do believe the non-resident pass is $50 a season and I'm not sure the weekend ban is still in effect as hardly anyone uses the launch regardless of weekday or weekend. Bad part is that they tore up the launch for repairs and have not put the dock back in. Great timing to the wing nut who picked this time of the year to do repairs.
  24. I launch out of bear creek. Resident pass is only $15 a year and the launch is only 5 minutes from my house.
