  1. We can thank the simple minded New York Bow Hunters Association. They feel they speak for us all but are just greedy and feel no other group should be allowed to shoot their deer..... Ohio, PA both passed and have NO effect on the number shot or a increase in hunters. This is sad. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Woody, if you want to get your boy out some evening while you are healing just send me a pm. I have a 19' blue fin and I'm still learning so maybe you can teach me a few tricks. I live 5 minutes from the bear creek launch and go out for a few hrs every evening I can get a chance after work. Paul Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I hooked into a tree last Sunday (8th) with my wire and ball on the way up from 85 flow while trolling in 120fow. I am not talking about a little bush. The wire was wrapped around a branch as thick as my leg! Straight out in front of the launch. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I fished this morning early lost one screamer on dipsey and landed one brown. Had to end it early as my two guests started chumming. Green is not a good color on any mans face. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I'm in. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Like I said before - I don't sell it, but I have been using for many years. I thought this program was here for others to share success stories, give out warnings, and complain about waves and that's all i was doing. I never said you had to use in big letters or small!
  7. Sorry guys, I have been using Ultra Shield for over 20 years along with all of the guys and gals that used to run beagles with me. Never had a problem with it for myself or anyone else that sprayed it on and sprayed it on heavily. The product is sold for animal use, so it is labeled for animal use which gets them away from many labeling requirements, expensive tests, and registrations. I only suggested the item, I don't sell it, but it has been working for me for years. If you want to read labels, compare the label for Ultra Shield with just about any other bug spray on the market and you won't find much of a difference.
  8. Once again I recommend Ultra Shield in the black spray or roll on bottle. I was out Sunday after the storm and the flies were swarming around my boat but I did not get bit once!
  9. I fish out of Bear Creek exclusively. I live in Ontario and it is only 5 minutes from my house to the launch. I just picked up a new to me boat that I bought from Lee Craig (19 ft blue-fin with 90 evinrude and 9.9 kicker). I went on my maiden voyage with it Sunday after the storm and went 1 for 2 but got tangled up with a large suspended tree in 120' of water. Always looking to share hot spots and information. Paul
  10. Don't forget to text me directions to your house so that I can come and see the boat today after work. Paul Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Ultra Shield. It is mainly used for horses and is sold at most farm and garden stores. I have roll on bottles and cover my lower legs with it. Works like a charm. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Went out at 5:00pm headed N/E and set up in 100' . Trolled to 140 and started marking singles hit a small king on 75 rigger on new moonshine. Reset and hit a teen that put up a nice fight. Other rigger at 80' took 2 nd king (14lbs) on a moonshine carbon orange. Marked no fish when all 3 hooked up. No one else out as far as I could see. Going to try again in the morning, good luck to all.
  13. Have any other pics? How much?
  14. Where is the boat located? Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Went out for few hrs this evening, with very few reports to go by I just headed north to 80' and set up. Trolled out to 160 and marked nothing so i headed back in and started to see a few marks around 110-115. Picked up 3 lakers off the bottom with one 18lber. All on riggers and all on Moonshine carbon orange and all on a se troll. nothing on dipsies. Not even a ripple on the water with lots of junk floating. Surface temp was 67.
  16. Interested! Where is the boat and do you have more pic's?
  17. Another great afternoon on the lake. Went 16 for 20 something in 4 hours. Started at about 1pm and went towards Ginna inside of 6'. Had trouble finding stained water until we got down to the buoy's and then the fire drills started. Cold Steel, Goby, perch and black& silver rapalas off in line boards. Caught one small coho and the rest were all browns . Some nice some small but all were fun.
  18. Figures! Know where I can get bolts for those Abu Garcia reels? I picked it up from the floor of the boat and all but the handle was gone. My buddy took care of them while I strapped the boat down.haha
  19. Boat is too small to have sides! I do know that when it was my turn to steer, we stayed in the fish. When the other guy drove, we mysteriously drifted out to deeper water!! And he broke one of the reels I got from you!
  20. Bear creek is a small launch (with very low water levels) in the town of Ontario just a few minutes west of Pultneyville. Day and season passes are available at the Ontario Town Hall. I didn't get over 3' until I was past the point.
  21. Great afternoon on the lake, went 15 for 20 with one coho, one laker and the rest were all browns. Caught the first fish 100' out of the launch and never went more than a 1/4 mile to either side. 5-10' of water with a water temp of 37 degrees. Floating rapalas #5 & #7's cold steel, and black & silver were the hot lures. Slowed down after we lost the ripple and the lake went flat. Stained water out about 100 yards. Started at about 4 and fished until7pm.
  22. I used this gentleman(Yax, Robert [[email protected]]) from the Honeoye area and his dog "Thor" a little dauschound about the size of a small cat. Could not believe where this dog took us and really thought it was a big waste of time. Thats what I was thinking until he came upon a pool of blood where my deer had bedded down. That spot was over 800yds from where we lost the bllod trail and this little dog followed a scent line right to it. At that point we figured the deer had gone over a mile. Never found the deer, but I am pretty sure that I saw it again and no worse for wear. I forgot to mention, Thor is only 6 months old. Deer Search Inc. 585-935-5220
