  1. Sounds like the lake is going to "flip over" soon [ Post made via Android ]
  2. LOL....yup....that was the year we had a teenager flop iout of our cooler on day 1 and go back to swimming. We could only weigh in 11 on day 1. I'm not taking anything from Pete. He's a friend. He worked hard, and deserved the win! However, those .22 ounces are just so tight. You should have seen his face when Yvan and i went up to him after weigh in and said we were doing a re-weigh.....LMAO THATS PRICELESS !!!! Would've loved to see it
  3. Count me in with boat and room for 2. My father will be my first mate and also proudly served 61--67 US Navy and Vietnam 'Bout Time II [ Post made via Android ]

Saturday was cold rainy miserable but fishing was good. 170-200 FOW best for us 80-95 riggers and Dipseys at 250-290 and 450-500 copper did the trick - no real pattern took fish on spoons and flies. Sunday was beautiful weather wise and fishing was ON FIRE. found fish had moved out just a little as 190-230 was best for us and the temps had come up a little as 70-85 riggers and dipseys at 230-260 were on fire. Hot setup was white green dot spin dr/ big fin glow on 256 dipsey - took 5 of 11 hits for us. Had alot of short hits but it kept us on our toes. Great 2 days in all with KINGS making there return.
  5. Not unless you go REAL FAST !!!!!!!! The entire cut is covered with rock 20" plus of rock. you can literally walk across the entire cut.
  6. The cut is closed until the Monday following the 2nd weekend of the month. So around June 11th the dig will start. The bay is close to 2' higher than the lake so when they first open it LOOK OUT

  8. Cannon, Berts, and Traxstech are all interchangable with one another
  9. Best of luck. hope all goes well and you are back on the boat soon
  10. Below was my report from Sunday. the fish were concentrated in a very tight pack. All my fish came within a postage stamp size area on my graph. They were very speed and direction sensitive. i took all fish heading North and not a single hit while i worked the same waypoints heading south. Pay very close attention to all the details when you do get a strike (direction, speed, depth of water, not only depth of lures but also the "stretch" from the rigger weight and or the dipsey setting. Also dont be afraid to go out on your own. Sometimes when you get away from the pack you will have better success. there were alot of boats grouped in the 100-170 range but I stayed away and we landed our third fish when most of them hadnt had any hits yet. 12. Thanks just wondering what the he@# they were. Interesting but i think ill pass
  13. Just read this off a post in the fishing reports section. "VR 2 attractors (looks kinda like a spin dr)" what are they? who makes them? any ideas? I have never heard of them
  14. Here was my report from Monday....... "Decided to head to deeper water and see what was out there. Hit 1 fish in 170 and made it to 220 before things lit up. ended up 8 for 12 with 3 doubles. everything was taking shots. riggers at 60/80/90 and wire divers at 187 were HOT with 7 of the 12 hits. Took Kings on spoons (purple frog, wadler, and nuclear) Spin Dr and Fly for the rest. Hot setup was White Dr - green dots with Big Fin Glow. that took 6 shots. 350 copper fired twice."
  15. There are Kings from Wilson to Mexico. If you read all the reports guys are hitting then just about everywhere. One day they are schooled up and another they are spread out. One day we were getting them in 30 FOW and the next day it was best at 220-300. I wish I could tell you that one place is better than the other but the truth is they are everywhere, dont be afraid to start shallow and work youre way out to look for them. Also for about two weeks it was strictly a spoon bite (for me) and last week I had 8 of 12 hits on Flasher/Fly combo's.
  16. GREAT POST RICH!!!!! If it weren't for the fisherman on this site sharing informtion and answering my questions i would not have the hook up or catch ratio I do. I also would not have spent over 150K in this fishery including a camp, and a big lake boat. No one was born an expert in fishing or any outdoors skills for that matter. it was something they learned and were taught by their Fathers, Grandfathers, freinds, or OTHER FISHERMAN. It is a shame when a simple question is asked concerning the general fishing we are enjoying turns into this. I have wondered this very same question myself "will the KING fishing last all year, or will we have the JUNE transition period where we serach for steelies out deep" I guess we will just have to wait to find out..................................... It also amazes me that if you look at the people that are having an issue with this are the the same people who at one time or another asked for help
  17. i have the big jons and have no complaints. they are a solid reel and do everything i need them to.
  18. I was close to moon beach but was by myself. I was the furthest boat out. There were a couple other guys around 180 range [ Post made via Android ]

  20. When setting them last is there a easier way to attach the lines to.the boards without crossing over the riggers and the dipsies? [ Post made via Android ]
  21. Here is my setup. 4 riggers (2 corners, 2 outdowns), 2 dipsies (one per side), and 2 coppers (450. 600). I will usually drop probe rigger first and then outdown rigger next. AFter that I will let the dipsie out and slow "click" away on drag and work on the other side of the boat with both riggers and that dipsie. I have been deploying my copper last, and it is a real Pain In Tha A$$ to attach the copper to the big boards over 2 riggers and a dipsie. My question is do you guys let out your copper first to avoid all the troubles?
