  1. As of earlier this week temps are all over the place. Best fishing out of Fair Haven was 600' plus (about 10 miles out). you can hit browns in closer at both FH and Mexico. it all depends how far you want to travel and what you want to catch. there are fish spread throughout but most consitant fishing out of FH would be out deeper but that could change daily.
  2. fixed that one too. I rechecked everyones name after the last mistake. spell check doesnt work well on boat names - UPDATED BOARD ATTACHED
  3. PLEASE SEE THE UPDATED NAMES FOR THE WEIGH-IN BOARD. LET ME KNOW IF THERE ANY CHANGES NEEDED BY TOMORROW NIGHT. I START MY VACATION FRIDAY AND WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY COMPUTER
  4. I would like to say something about the young men that participated in this tournament. I was at the weigh in each day and these young men handled themselves with dignity and pride. They were very polite and respectful to everyone they came in touch with. A big thumbs up Dad you have done a great job and have raised a wonderful young man [ Post made via iPhone ]

  6. I am also in favor in OPEN COMMUNICATION. I have never fished out of Sodus and honestly for me I could care less about "winning" anything. my only goal is to put these guys onto fish. I'm sure I could figure it out but it would be nice to know a good starting point so im not wasting their time. As a suggestion.. how about evryone involved is on or "monitors": a certain channel? we would have to pick one that does not interfer with the charters. I know most guys from Sodus use 14, Port Bay is 9, Fair Haven is 5, and Oswego is 8. what if we pick something in the 60s or 70 range. Just a suggestion
  7. I'll take 1 large 3 xl and 1 xxl just to make sure I have everyone covered [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. i have a Convector 55 with 450' of 45lb copper and 600' of 50lb PowerPro. i dont think that the extra 50' of copper and the mono will fit. i would just use braid for your backing.
  9. I agree 100 percent with your post on the Pro-Am and the results (or lack there of). As far as the OPEN "scoreboard" it is pathetic at best. With the 15 - 20 teams entering the OPEN division at $135 a pop / a day (over 2k) a day you would think they could do something a little better. below is one i put together for the Sodus Bay Healing Water event we are doing and it took me all of an hour or so. With more and more teams entering these events i think its time they step up.

Set-up in 120 and worked way out to 250 before turning around. hit the 140 range and starting marking bait and fish. Around 6:40am the 130 the port dipsey set at 211 rips and Dad grabs the rod. after a good fight we net a GREAT king that was bouncing my scale around the 30 lb range. now 7:15 am we decided to pack up and run in to weigh it. we hit the dock at 7:40 grabbed some fresh coffee and some extra ice. I re-weigh the fish at the dock and it is showing upper 29s almost 30. we throw the coller in the truck and head to Screwy Louies in town. we had to wait until 8:00 to weight it in and when I opened the cooler I almst cried. The fish had bled out on the ride there. I couldnt believe it but after it hit the scale it still came in a 28.14 despite all that. I just wish for Dad we could have made it there without that happening. On Sunday we left the dock at 5am with High Hopes for a good Pro-Am showing. I started to setup in 100 FOW and found 76 degrees on top and 49 degrees down 45. I ran 2 riggers up high 40 and 50 with free sliders and spoons. 2 riggers at 60 and 65 pulling paddles and flies. 2 dipseys out 156 and 187, and a 300' cooper. We worked water from 100' to 300'. we didnt end up moving a rod until 10am when a steely hit the free slider jumped once crossed the dipsey wire and snapped the line. 0 for 1. Ten minutes later a King hit the other rigger parked at 50. after a short battle and one good jump it came unbuttoned. 0 for 2. 15 minutes later the 156 dispey rips for 30 seconds and gone. 0 for 3. we fished for another hour without a touch. Ended up without a single fish to weigh-in for the Pro-Am. Not the way I had planned it. But thats fishing

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Bout Time ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6-30 Time on Water:615-830am Weather/Temp:nice 70s Wind Speed/Direction:W-NW Waves: 0-3 Surface Temp: 69 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 12 Total Boated:7 Species Breakdown:Kings, Brown, Steelhead Hot Lure: All Trolling Speed: 3.0 Down Speed: 2.2 Boat Depth: 120-250 Lure Depth: 100-140 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Dropped probe rigger down 90 over 120 and it fired before I could even get the other rods in the water. A decent 5lb brown. Continued setting spread and from 170-250 we had 11 hits. Riggers at 120,135,140 all fired. Dipseys at 390 and 420 fired and 600 copper. No pattern as we took fish off spoons (DieHard, SSW, and NBK) flashers and flies (echips and Drs with Atommik flies white, green, and silvers). Lost 2 screamers on wire dispsey after 900 feet out line snapped, and another 600 feet out line snapped. guess its time for new wire. Highlight was a triple on Kings(400 dipsey, 140 rigger, and 600 copper) What an insane 2 hours it was. All kings were 20lbs plus.
  18. The ones that bother me the most are the charter captains that only post in classifieds. For the most part all most all the captains on here give advice and reports but there are a couple who never posted anything but in classifieds and every day they bump it up to the top [ Post made via Android ]
  19. Decided to do some cleaning. There are a total of 50 spoons. they are mostly Mags and 28 (similar size). the lot consist mainly NKs, Stingers, and a couple others (guide series, etc.). NONE of these have ever seen the water. Asking $100 shipped for all 50.
  20. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/22 , 6/23, 6/24 Time on Water:morning and afternoon Weather/Temp:warm and sunny Wind Speed/Direction: N / NW Waves: everything from 0 - 3 Surface Temp: 67-69 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 20+ Total Boated: 14 Species Breakdown: Kings/ Coho/ one Laker Hot Lure: Silver/Green Echip / Green Crinkle Fly Trolling Speed: 2.0 - 3.5 Down Speed: 2.0- 2.6 Boat Depth: 120 - 250 Lure Depth: 80 - 150 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== What a weekend. started Friday morning with a short trip but awesome action. We ended up 2 for 4 in just 2 hours and the higlight was Dad's biggest fish to date. just over 43" and 28 pounds plus on the boat scale. this fish came on the port dipsy out 276 over 135. Headed out Friday evening with high hopes and was not disappointed. Found best water was 150-170 range and went 4 for 7 in just 2.5 hours. this trip was highlighted when while fighting a fish on the startboard dipsy the port dipsy fired and we are now doubled up with just two of us in the boat and both fighting fish on the dipsys i made the mistake and opened my mouth and said we are screwed if a rigger fires then within 30 seconds there goes one of the riggers. I made sure the fish was hooked and with my dipsey out 600 feet I put that rod in a holder and worked on the rigger fish. we landed the rigger fish a 15 pound lake trout, and went back to my dipsy fish now out 970 on the wire. my partner landed his fish a nice 14 pound Coho, and we concentrated on my fish. we ended up getting the fish all the way to the boat when there was a netting issue and this fish wrapped around a rigger line and off it went. it looked every bit as big as Dad's fish from the morning but I will never now the actual weight. Ended up with a couple other nice Cohos and a mid teen King to round out the night. I took Saturday morning off and headed out Staurday Afternoon for a solo trip. went 3 for 3 .I found that the NW Blow had moved temp out and WAY DOWN. best water for me was the 190 - 240 range with all three hits coming off starboard rigger down 140' with a silver Green Echip Green Crinkle fly. all Kings in the low teen range with the last one in the mid teens. Sunday morning I felt pretty confident that i could find the fish from my waypoints the night before. as usual it wasnt that easy. While setting up the second rigger in 180 FOW and only the probe rigger in dad yells FISH, and we landed a decent laker around 12 pounds. I thought this is going to be a great day with a fish in the first 10 minutes. i continued setting the spread and we started in search mode. we didnt move a rod for over an hour and I found one small pocket in 240 feet that from 8 - 9:30 we ended up going 5 for 8 with a mix of small kings, and one good high teen king. Temps were in the basement and all fish came off riggers down 140-150, dipsys out 376 - 410. Overall a challenging weekend with the change in weather, wind, and temp, but a great weekend especially for June.
  21. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Bout Time II ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/22 Time on Water:6-8am Weather/Temp:overcast 60s Wind Speed/Direction:W NW Waves: 2-3 Surface Temp: 67 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits:4 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown:KINGS Hot Lure: ECHIP Paddles / flies Trolling Speed: 3.2 Down Speed: 2.3 Boat Depth: 120-150 Lure Depth: 65-90 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== tokk dad out again today for just 2 hours but what a two hours it was. had first hit within 10 minutes of setting up. Rigger down 92 over 120 with White/Green Echip Green - fly nice 17 lb King. Took two other shots on same rigger same depth second one - no one was home - third hit after a short 5 minute battle it came unbuttoned. about 20 minutes later the port dipsy out 276 over 135 starts SCREAMING !!!!!!!!! fish first stopped at 420 for 3 seconds then continued to 740 in about a minute in a half. Worked fish back in and after 20 minutes we were back to 330. I wasnt sure who would tire first Dad or the fish after another 10 minutes Dad was making good ground and when the fish hit the net there were alot of High 5s, Holy Sh&^%, and a huge hug . this was without a doubt Dads biggest fish to date. It hit 28 lbs on the boat scale twice before it shut off - i think the batteries are dead. I wish i knew the true weight but none the less it was a gorgeous fish. PS - guess who isnt in the DERBY !!!
