  1. Can a tie be called a tie if it's not tied ?..............Nice fish
  2. We played in the wind @ Keuka today Alec, my first choice was Seneca today, thought maybe I could figure out where Erabbit & Kinger were hiding the brown trout..... but my partner said Nooooooooooo with the wind that is being forecast, 12 mph SW, we would be better off on a "small lake"...............when we came over the hill Seneca was flat & mirroring the sky would have been a GREAT day for trying jigging
  3. Well Frank & I hit Keuka State Park an hour before day break, started putting our gear together by flashlight . 2 minutes after our arrival nice looking rig pulled in, turned out to be Canandaigua Troller, , NICE meeting other "LOUians".........after sharing information back & forth we hit the water, Frank & I set up @ the Park same as I did last week, center of the lake, bow pointing South, Canandaigua Troller was off South in a hurry & was never seen again. We went 6 for 9 on lakers, EVERYTHING was caught @ 158-170 FOW, both wire rods were set @ 300' & 450' back, both down riggers were 25' back & 150' down, 1-8# ball & 1- 15# torpedo, for you who can figure the "blowback" factor. TODAY'S FLAVORS WERE: after playing in the wind all morning we were surprised to see that Seneca was like a mirror on our way home..........would have been a great day to try jigs on the South end
  4. I couldn't get the link above to work but found this one http://fli-data.hws.edu/clarkpt/
  5. 3 lake trout walk into my cooler....... went 4 for 5 , on the water @ Keuka State Park 6:40AM, pulled out of the park @ 10:18AM, centered the boat in the lake, pointed the bow South, wire Dipsey Rods @ 450' & 300' back, favorite flavor was a chrome Spin Doctor w/ glow crush on both sides being chased by a Seneca Ghost fly
  6. Nice report Ed , nice Brown ! ......tie..... pfffft !
  7. That's a Helluva smallie Ed, good reporting !
  8. Gotta love Lake Ontario United, and those Captains that openly share info, & answer ALL the questions that have been asked and answered repeatedly before Then ya got ones like Iron Duke that actually sell the stuff, and is more than willing to answer AND set up all your equipment Yep gotta love Lake Ontario "United"....Like Guff said above....."From what I have seen the younger generation is not taking up the sport like us old f--ts. I feel really bad about that. If through this site we can get some of them into a 10 lb laker on light equipment on their first few trips we will have them hooked for life and what better catch can we have? ".....I've seen it happen with trapping.....slowly nipping at hunting....I for one would hate to see it happen with fishing.....so yeah.....sharing is a good thing ! & I for one THANK YOU !! that have helped me, the ones that know it & the ones that don't know they have
  9. My first year in this game (trolling) Mike & Yvonne (Dan was working his "real" job ) treated me GREAT ! set me up completely, answered all my questions, still do, and GREAT prices BEFORE you order from a "big box store", or a catalog, give them a chance to match or better the price, they'll tell you whether or not if they can ! BUY LOCALLY. GREAT STOCK/SUPPLY and a GREAT resource for our area ! THANKS Hills,Valleys & Streams !
  10. ...............in the mean time...............send them over
  11. @ Sean, I just want to live long enough to see your girls & their boy friends turn that boat into a tubing/water skiing party barge
  12. ..............The fish didn't want what I was offering, & I refused to change ........ I did meet Trerat & his Dad, good people
  13. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in on the quality & workmanship on Alec's jigs, I picked up some & I dare anybody to gather up some jigs out of my jig box, the quality of hooks Alec uses & the 1 ounce weight is more than enough to puncture skin & start the travel of the small barb home. The "guru of jigging" (Alec aka Hermit) says he uses his product plain...........I couldn't resist adding some confidence colors, the ones pictured here are all powdered coated with super glow Pro-Tec powder paint, the picture of the two jigs by themselves with the "glow eyes" are to show the UV powder coat, pictures were taken outside. THANKS ALEC !
  14. Nice set-up !, I was thinking maybe the wife would go out more (sometime) if it was on a pontoon set-up. She handles rough water too I assume ? I saw one of the pontoon companies offered a trailer-able rig (fit on the roads) I contemplated going this route before I bought the deep vee, BUT couldn't find anybody who did this
  15. Nice report Ed ...........grumble grumble grumble, did Sean & "crew" back ? did Kinger get "bumped" ?
  16. Nice report, nice pics, nice smiles would love to see a pic of your set-up on your pontoon
  17. Nice report & pics Ed .........NOTE TO SELF: pick up comical necktie .......never ends in this sport buy buy buy
  18. YEP ! GOTTA LOVE KEUKA !!!! GREAT report
  19. Ed, came out of Watkins, EARLY, went way up the West side, crossed over to the East side, criss crossed, zig zagged the North South HELL I even fell out of line & followed "The Office" to see if I could learn something and/or snag some trout off of their spread BUT they have a bigger boat & lost me ........ALL BECAUSE OF YOUR'S, MIKE'S, & SEAN'S POST TOO !!! .................Nick..........I'm only fooling around Buddy, I'm very new to this "trolling" & have been terribly spoiled by the easiness of Keuka Lake "myth" was my comical sarcasm
